I feel almost the same. however I'm really tempted by the shadow er... somethinks... they look so much nicer than the SM scouts and have lots of positions, might mix them with the GW scouts. anyone got a size comparison?

I'm sure you'll get another crack at buying "new" Epic models when GW re-re-re-releases Epic in a decade or so.

In the mean time though if that's really all you want I'd say stick to eBay and Bartertown. And at least that way you might actually get to pay a realistic price for your models as well...

Yep, for those who want ... Ebay or Bartertown ... That's you best and only choice at this point ...  But IMO, DRM & E/W are too good to pass up ! :D

Don't get me wrong L4... I'm in 100% agreement with you.

DRM's new vehicles in particular really "work" for me. I plan on dropping a somewhat major amount of coin on both lines next year. :D

But... as I'm sure most here will agree... realistically the only solution if you want Epic and only Epic figs is go somewhere other than GW. Or get ulcers waiting for GW to get their thumbs out.

I'd say that the Shadow Knight Snpiers would make excellent SM sniper proxies (having painted up the Studio pieces). I was originally going to convert the SM scouts like Doc did but I think I'll just do a head swap on the4 shadow knights and do a few minor modifications (the Shadow Knight chest plate is split in two whereas the SM scout is single piece, also the rifle needs a silencer and other smaller details.

While I think the Shadow Knights would make excellent Marine scouts, I thought the DRM Scout would as well.  He's always reminded me of this Scout on the left if he made full use of that cloak.

I really have no interest in the new rules sets but the models are great.
Most fit into existing armies but new races are fine. I am a NetEpic-er (not a word) which expands as needed not a closed system like GW. It takes an act of congress (sort of) to change anything in EA.

I can't rememper who had it as a signature but I believe in it. "Expand the game not limit the players".  The universe is infinite. Who knows what lies out there....

Everyone is entitled to use the figures they want. It is a shame that some will miss out by restricting themselves.

A local player has just bought some DRM to replace elements of his Eldar. He prefers the look of them. He is using the Kraytonian Arkalest heavy tank for his scorpions, and Arka tanks as Nightspinners.

Seeing them painted black like his Ulthwe eldar I think they look the part, and fit in very nicely with the other eldar. The Arkalest is about the same size as old scorpions and tempests, but not as big as the new scorpion I think. DRM are often very cheap compared to GW tanks (especially GW's super heavies which are just ridiculously overpriced IMO).

I tend to walk somewhere down the middle ground of the views expressed so far. I rarely use 'outside sources' for miniature lines which are established, but I will integrate other models into new forces. For example, my Tau are only Tau - no other minis will find their way into the force. But, one reason that I am so fond of my Genestealer Cult is that it allows me to use minis from a variety of places. Containing the variety in this way makes it easier for me work out what goes where, support GW when I can and still gives me the flexibility to buy something because it looks cool.
