Camoflaged TITANS? You got to be kidding...Camoflage does not make any difference when you are titan sized so might just as well scrap it.

Camoflaged TITANS? You got to be kidding...Camoflage does not make any difference when you are titan sized so might just as well scrap it.

Mine have camo carapaces so you can't see them from space and hit them with a lance.

I would guess spaceships would pick up that dirty great plasma reactor on their scanners anyway - it's unlikely they'd just be aiming by looking out of the window! (unless they're Orks, obviously!)
Still, in the original Titan painting guide back in WD108 the carapaces were camoflauged - probably a precaution against aircraft, I think.

I always wanted to camoflauge my Warhounds with miniature trees, but I never got around to doing it. :D

There's these things called SCANNERS and Titans have big plasma reactors which scanners will pick up in no time  :D

Not to mention Titan sticks out visibly like sore thumb so all space ship has to do is do surface scan to find odd anomalities. Titan shape ought to be easy enough to notice.

Okay if titan is inside big building with plasma reactor shut down it can hide from spaceship but...Wait a sec...Inside building. No need for camoflage afterall  :D

Paint camo if you like the look of it by all means but it's not going to help titan to hide by longshot. Titan is pretty much impossible to hide. Just too big for that. Might just as well paint red target circle over it...

You want to make a walking shrubbary?!  :laugh:

And tneva82 I surpose you are right, but it does work against orks.  Especially if you get Sabotage agents to paint big red targets on their Gargants.  :p

And my Bad Moons are rich and clever enough to take some advice from the cunning Blood Axes - remember my old Gargant Deffsta? He was a rebuild of a more ancient Mega Gargant, and during construction was disguised - as a wreck! And to lure the Imperium into a trap, when it was complete it was rigged with scaffolding and stuff and only half-painted. The marines rushed in to wreck it before it was completed, or so they believed. But Deffsta was ready and waiting... there IS a reason behind its name.  :p

Another reason for no camo on a titan is the reason I originally went for red tanks. ?I figure the AdMech might rely on the superiority of the machine rather than sneaky strategems.

I agree it's iffy for tanks and the like - that's why I plumped for camo after all - but if there's one set of machines I think it would apply to, it's the

Well as always DWWFY ... I'm very well aware of scanners, signatures, sensors, etc. ... however, those can be blocked, dampened, etc., (ECM vs. ECCM) not all forces will have detection capabilities. ?As Reaver intimated, camo was originally designed in WWI to prevent detection against Aircraft ... After serving in 4 Infantry Bns, I can say without a doubt, anything ... I mean anything that will give you an edge on survivability, you'd take advantage of ... However in "reality" (dare I use that word !?), IMO, the entire Titan/Knight concept is just silly at best and down right stupid at worse ! ?I've long said that they are mobile Targets for everything from Man packed Missiles to Orbital fire support ! ?But in my mind, I can see no reason to paint military machines/AFVs, in anything but Tactical or Camo'd colors ... however if you like; paint your Titans as you wish ... DWWFY ! :D ? (BTW, No need to be rude or insulting ...)

Scarily enough I went in to the GW store today and the dude who sold me some hills mentioned he has a camouflaged Gargant!

Personally I like my titans to be a nice bright red so the enemy troops can see it coming a mile off.  This gives them adequate time to determine that the best thing to do would be to run away  :p

Good point, "Verm" ! And B/Bot, seeing red troops "a mile away", makes good targets for forces that don't elect to run !  :D  Well BOT, I don't care is G/W forums or G/W Closes, at this point (and I don't really care what color you paint your toy soldiers, and Titans, etc. - DWWFY !) :D    Go for it !
