Another reason for avoiding the 40k or fantasy discussion is that there's too much 'YOUR ARMY IS NOT MAXED OUT ON PLASMAS/LASCANNONS THEREFORE IS TEH SUCK!!!' approach to the games.

Please, is it not possible anymore to have an army simply because you like the background and you like [i]certain[/] models? ???  I made the mistake of posting an army list there, I nearly scrapped an entire painted army because of it (emphasis on nearly)...

I?ll be sticking a Chaos Marine army up for review soon. ?It?s thrown together out of bits I have lying around, and I haven?t played 40k in years, so I?m expecting plenty of those comments :)

I won?t mind them ? I want to know if the end result is vaguely feasible before spending time, effort and no doubt more money on it.

However, as someone who is well used to putting forces (or card decks) together out of supposedly useless parts just because it?s fun to, I agree such comments are annoying when you know precisely where the holes in the force are.

[OT]Now what's the to hit modifier for camo targets?  I can't seem to find it.  :laugh: (we REALLY need that devil emo back).

Seriously, I had some Assault marines in grey, playing on an ash waste board.  My opponent completely forgot about them because he could hardly see them! :D [/OT]

Well sorry to go OT ! But if I was fighting on a planet with neon colored foliage ... I'd call in a massive Agent Orange Strike !  :D   And Con, it would be a +1 to hit non-Tac/Camo colored Targets (like Red !) and a -1 if the Target is Tac/camo !  :D  Plus that has happened on one of our gaming tables before too ... Camo ... it works !  :D   And On T ... IMO ... who cares if G/W closes their Forum !  They don't support Epic anymore ... so who needs'm !  I'll say it again -  DRM, E/Wars, GZG, etc. ...  :D

L4  :) I love the camo colours but the marines are not space marines if the armour is not as bright as the emperors aura!!  :p  hey !!! why don't you writre a incomming article with cammo patterns suitable to the marine infantry?

On marine camo: don't the Raptors use it?  They did in FW's Taros Campaign book.

Thanks Bans !  Camo SM patterns ... that's simple ... just go to any Osprey book on WWII, uniforms of the Germans, French in Indochina and US in RVN, etc. !   Not mention pic of most modern Armies ... And Verm, I try to control myself ! :D

Marines, especially ultramarines, should never be in camo patterns.  It makes killing them that much more easier, and it allows to to gloat to your marine opponent about how you killed another one of his clowns :D

Good points !  But my UMs are a dark Prussian blue-gray - Tac color !  All my Titans are Tac/Camo colors !  And I was  with Deathwing in the Old Days, when the DA (my fav SM Rgt!) was in blackish-green armor (mine still are !). Polly's S makes excellent Tac Mil colors for all SM Rgts !  But I have since joined the Slammers !  :) !
