On the front page of SG, Andy H made a statment:

During the week Games Workshop announced that it would be closing down all the main website forums. You can see the announcement here: www.uk.games-workshop.com/forums/

I'd like to reassure all our site visitors that this does not affect the Specialist Games forums at all. For us it is business as usual. If you are one of the displaced, then feel free to come and join our community. Maybe even have a go at one of our great games!

Too often, 40K dominated sites are populated with kids (of all ages), like E&C said, and guyz that like bright, shiny things !  :D

I tend to ignore every part of Warseer except the rumours section, the SG section, and the Painting section (oh, and I occasionally go in the 'Random Musings' section. ?You can't beat some random musing sometimes :D )

There are some very talented painters/modellers on there, and I no longer bother with White Dwarf/GW online 'cause I get to hear everything that's going to come out months in advance from some very reliable people.

Plus their fanzine (Firebase) looks like it'll feature more Specialist Games coverage that White Dwarf manages over the course of a year... :p

But it can be a bit 'cliquey' sometimes with some people's posts respected more than others, whereas EpiComms feels more like a genuine community where everyone's input is equally respected.

Just the painting forum for me.  Very occasionally the background forums and the LotR forum.  I don't play LotR, but Brandir used to head some great geeky debates about the books.  I check every so often to see if there's a new one among all the dull rules questions.

Firebase might interest me, though.  I haven't checked it out yet.

The first issue had a lot of Necromunda stuff, and I believe the second does too - as well as plenty of Space Hulk.

Apparently they're planning to feature Epic in either the 3rd or 4th issue :cool: :cool: :cool: :D

I hate that my company blocks too many forums, so not having the GW forum (that wasn't blocked) cuts the amount of stuff I can read when work is quiet.

Luckily they aint blocked this one yet, but its annoying when any linked photos to photobucket is blocked :(

"What's wrong with bright shiny things !?"  It draws too much fire and gets KIA'd to easily !   Should be in Tac/Camo colors !! And don't say Hammer's AFVs ain't camo'd !  They are a dull metallic gray and steel !  :D   Let's get those AFVs painted in proper Tac/camo colors !  And not circus colors, like bright red, lime green, day glow orange, etc., etc. !  :;):
