Now, that is NICE!  Is there any actual Warhound in there?  It looks like all new parts.

If you share secrets, you've got my vote!

Hi!
Just added my SG-comp titan - a World Eater Warhound. Guess im not a friend with my camera yet - how do you guyes get so crisp pictures? I can get it sharp from head to tail so it became something in-between.

This has to do with the aperture settings on your camera which influences how much depth of field is in the pic. A higher aperture number increases the depth of field but usually also means a longer shutter time. To get good results you should mount your camera on a tripod :;):

..And I agree: Wonderfull conversion!

I too miss the open and terrain categories (I am myself working on something which would probably fit better in the open category)  but considering the prize issue and the fact that those other two categories recieved relatively few entries last year, I can understand why they've been left out of this year's comp.

Perhaps they could be added as prestige catagories.  No prizes awarded, but winner gets the satisfaction of peer recognition(I'm sure that's the motivation for most entries anyway).

That Warhound is very cool! How did you build it?

@VanVlak: that flying Gargant is crazy! Its truly something that should be incoorporated in the game and could lead to cool scenarios.

Good job Mohawk.

As WMN said, to get a perfect picture, you have to think about the aperature and depth of field. ?A large depth of field will bring more of the model into focus. ?If you want to try to adjust this, try this:

1) See if your camera has an Aperature Priority mode, usually abreviated AP. ?In AP mode, you should be able to increase the f-stop (a measure of the size of the camera aperature). ?High f-stops are desired. ?A small point&shoot camera may only go up to f-8, where a digital SLR could go over f-40. ?The higher the f-stop, the greater the depth of field, and more of the model will be in focus.

2) ?Increasing the f-stop has a potentially negative consequence: ?It lets less light into the camera. ?To fix this, a powerfull flash can be used. ?The other option is to have the shutter remain open for longer to increase the total amount of light that enters the camera. ?However, if the shutter remains open long, the photo will be blurry if you move the camera. ?Use a tripod to fix this.

Hopefully this helps and doesn't just confuse you more ??? ?:D

Thanks,
CF

Hi Vanvlak,
I'd love to see the wip pics, but all I get is a "password login" screen when I follow the link to photobucket :( .

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi all!

Thanks for the feedback and the help with the camera settings!  :D
Canucks, that made perfectly sence - just have to find the proper controls (got a Canon SLR). Going try it out later today.

As for the model its scratchbuilt from mostly wh40k bitz. I came up with the statline and the background for the model i wanted to make but had no Warhound to convert and no time to order one.

The core is a Necron destroyer, topp spikes and flail Chaos Rhino Bitz, head from a fleshhound, tail is from an old chaos hound, legs from a tau vespid (liked the spiked ankle guards),right arm is atitan chain fist.

got to run, laters!

Great conversion, Mohawk - it looks like a suitably twisted and daemonic War Engine!

I love the mega bomma V.  I can see that thing as the battlefield in a game of AI.

Imperial and ork fights dog fighting around it and ork defensive guns blazing away at any fighter that gets too close (if they hit then they were shooting at the enemy!)
