Hi MarkCoNZ,

And to think that I used to be the hopeless optimist!

I bow to you sir, for having taken my former spot! Power to you! LOL :)

Battlefleet Gothic, Blood Bowl, Mordheim and Battle of Five Armies eh?  I guess the thing to say about them is that they are conspicuously good value (by GW?s standards).  I bought a BoFA set recently, as it happens.

One thing that puzzles me... wasnt BoFA limited to 5000 copies worldwide? If so, how come they have sold enough boxed sets to make the top 20 sellers?

Maybe the online store doesn't sell very well.....?

Ha, no. Wouldn't know, maybe they upped production?

I'd guess that was just the initial run... BOFA has 5 or so different types of Plastic sprue in the boxed set, the investment there is pretty damn large... large enough that they'll want to be producing it for a while.

I'm not surprised that all the SG starter sets make it up there... if Epic had one, it'd be there too.

The 5000 copies sold well so they have relaunched the production.

Ahhh, so another infamous GW 'limited edition'.  ???

Pretty much every limited edition run of miniature produced by GW have later been on sale. It is fairly common knowledge that they use the expression as advertising only. *sigh*

GW are producing a lot of LOTR models that are not in the movies including Tom Bombadil and several 'Mirkwood Necromancer' models.

Aye, GW also have the rights to do 'The Hobbit' miniatures.

They don't have the Silmarillion however.

I thought the rights for the Lord of the Rings game was with New Line, and the Hobbit licence had to be kept totally separate (hence BoFA).  Did this change?  Maybe New Line had the rights to use Tom Bombadil themselves.

Who needs G/W-F/W-S/G !?!?! Did you see the new minis on the DRM site ("thanks Con !") ?!?!  Or the Exodus Wars releases and upcoming releases !!?  Check out CinC Sci-fi;  not just Renegade Legions ! They have few nice pieces too !  So I don't care if G/W-F/W-S/G ever produces anything again !  Long Live Tac Cmd - the Center of the 6mm Sci-fi Uni !! :D

Rick Priestley did say that if the 5000 first copies of BoFA were sold the game would be re-edited. No 'limited edition' announce.

Remember they can only do LotR stuff from the movies.  No idea myself about what they?ve released so far so I don?t know what they can still do.

Ah. Tom Bombadil was on the movie? Wow! Never noticed him there! Could you tell me precicely in which movie and in what minute he appeared? Maybe even screenshot?

And I'm pretty darned sure I never saw Necromancer there either...Or Khandians(or whatever those were called. The asian styled cavalry with charriots that appear in shadow in the east supplement). Or wood elf sentinels....

Fact: They have bigger license than just the movie. Either that or whoever has overall control of Tolkiens licenses are going to sue them big time!

They got bigger license than movies years ago already. The Moria supplement way back around the time Two Towers was the rulebook included stuff from bigger license.

So yeah. They still have lots of stuff to be released. Next up is likely dwarf supplement. After that maybe corsair one. If you buy legions of middle earth you can find point values and names for a lot of stuff that hasn't been released yet.

Part of the original agreement was that we made a second game not based on the movies. Hence the creation of BOFA, I doubt it would exist otherwise. Also it is a joint license to both the movies and the books across new line and the tolkein estate
