Hello,

news is already starting to dribble in of new stuff from today's Games Day, including more spiffy 40k stuff from Forge World: an amazing new Great Unclean One, more Death Korps stuff, Chaos Militia, plus the exciting news they'll be releasing 40k Adeptus Mechanicus stuff  :D

However, nothing's come out about Specialist Games so far, so I was wondering if anyone went today and managed to gleam any info?

:cough: Epic Chaos & 'Nids release :cough:

Thanks!

I had a chat with Andy Hall.

Chaos: February '07, but probably only the plastic sprue to be rereleased, as the metal molds are currently MIA!!!!

That means no new Titan, no bikers, no dreadnoughts, no chaos land raiders, nada but the plastics.

Lame huh?

'Nids: February '08.

ForgeWorld:

Two varients of the Thunderhawk transporter were on display, one carrying two Rhinos, one carrying a single Land Raider.

Both types were resin and much higher detail than the stock SG ones, Tony C told me that they'll probably release the vehicles seperately.

The Thunderhawk Gunship is huge, and very cute. :D

Warwick Kinrade told me that FW intend to 'redo all the Titans' at some point.

EDIT: One of my mates was freaking gaga over the ForgeWorld Eldar bomber, which was massive, and very, uh, Eldarish.

Oh and Warmaster will get its Araby army released in the next SG release slot.

They'll be released at the same time as the FW air-war book (Which is looking pretty fun from the chat I had with Warwick).

Expect 2-3 months maximum. They want it out before Christmas.

Warwick: "Adeptus Titanicus is a possibility but it'd be several years off at this point."

But even several years is better than nothing! At the very least we can start harassing FW from now on, if they realise there's an interest they may speed up...

My first harrassment would be for those new resin versions of the Marine vehicles I mentioned... each individual track link has complex detailing, all the lines are crisp... they leave the somewhat muddy Marine casts of SG in the dirt.

Interesting about the Chaos release... Still I'll be plenty happy with just the Infantry spure released. Everything else in the list can be converted relatively easily from existing models (well except the Defiler)

I must have misread your first post, E+C. I thought you were just saying they had new Thunderhawks - but then you mentioned track links! So the Rhinos and Landraiders were resin too?

Hmmm... Forgeworld start producing standard Marine equipment that we'd expect to be SG's preserve, and now we hear the Chaos release will just be infantry sprues - what do you bet that FW are lined up to do the rest of the Chaos range? Could be the life saver Epic needs...
Regards,
Reaver

Chaos infantry sprue Feb 07, Nids Feb 08. ?

I can live with that if it actually happens.

Seems the chance of actually seeing some chaos may have actually improved with that comment ("yeah we are releasing the infantry sprue but we've lost the metal bits - sorry!"). The metal bits they may have released are not really anything that can't be easily converted. Defilers and things are what is really needed and it looks like they won't be produced for ages (if ever).

The FW plans and models sound interesting.

We should be used to it by now ... Epic is G/W-F/W's old weird uncle they don't talk much about ! ?And again, my favorite rant is F/W does not need to do more versions of stuff we already have, IMO ! ?NO more IG, SM, Ork, Eldar or even Tau ?... we need Chaos, Necron, even 'Nid !!!!!!! ?We can certainly "get by" with all the IG, SM, Ork, Eldar or Tau with what G/W-S/G-F/W already produces or shows up on Ebay, Bartertown, etc. ! ?Of course I know we'll be seeing aircraft with F/W's Air War Game ... but that's a given. ?We don't need another version if a L/Russ, L/Raider, Rhino, etc., etc. ... IMO ! ?Now Power Specific Chaos Vehicles, new 'Nid models, and a Necron Army (like the Tau) ... Now you're talkin' !! :D ? ? ? ?A L/Rdr Mk. 15 or Rhino varient # 27, Leman Russ Uranus Type A3E8, etc., etc. ?!?! ?I'm not in favor of that !!! No ... not at all !!

The Ad Mech news is good; the Warmaster Araby stuff better; and the Chaos and Nid sprues - or at least, the reiteration of a release planned - better still. I was hoping for daemons, which don't look likely, but at least there's the WM daemons if you like them extra large. Ah well. Not too bad.....
