Great work Hojyn !

My favorite are the modular marine stands. ?This seems like a great cost effective way to keep your force versatile. ?How did you do this? ?Are the characters attached to the base by magnets?

Excellent ideas, thanks for sharing.

CF

Thanks ! ?:)

For the modular stands, here's what I did :

- I punched a hole in the base with a perforator;
- I then glued magnetic sheet under the base (bought from Essex Miniatures)
- using the perforator again, I cut a small, round piece of ferrosheet (Essex Miniatures again) and glued it in the hole in the base; >>> ferrosheet is an "inverted" magnetic sheet: it's covered in a metallic coat or something so that magnets adhere to it.
- finally, I glued the "modular" models on small magnets bought from Amazing Magnets.

There you go, it's really easy to do and the result is well worth it IMO.

Hi,

I'm back with, as planned, my Khorne demons : Hounds and Bloodletters! ?

Here we go :

Hounds 1

Hounds 2

Hounds 3

Bloodletters 1

Bloodletters 2

That's it for now, but I'll soon post pictures of my Plaguebearers, which are almost finished.

EDIT : painting guide

KHORNE

- Black undercoat

Skin

- Dark Flesh coat (diluted)

- Scab Red drybrush
- Blood Red drybrush

Horns

- Snakebite Leather
- Bleached Bone (diluted)
- Chestnut Ink wash (diluted)

Weapons

- Shining Gold
- Chestnut Ink wash (diluted)
- Shining Gold (old) highlights

By "old" Shining Gold, I mean the colour that used to be Shining Gold (it's a very nice colour by the way, perfect for highlights). If you don't have any, I guess adding some Mithril Silver to the present Shining Gold should do the trick.

Nice Khornate Daemons mate.Maybe you can add a blogg on how you painted each set so people can take advantage of what looks like a great painting style.

Cheers

Actually, I was thinking about doing something like that... otherwise, there's no real point to this gallery (except flattering my ego when I receive compliments for my work ?:D ). What's more, I've kept detailed notes on my painting scheme, so...

I'll start here and I'll also edit my previous posts to make it easier for those interested in a particular painting guide.

Let's start with the most complicated, Tzeentch.

TZEENTCH

All over the model

- Black undercoat

- Purple Ink wash

- Midnight Blue drybrush
- Regal Blue drybrush
- Enchanted Blue drybrush
- Ice Blue light drybrush

- Purple Ink wash
- Magenta Ink wash
- Orange wash

- Enchanted Blue drybrush
- Scaly Green drybrush

- Blue Ink wash

On arms, heads and other extremities

- Blazing Orange drybrush
- Bad Moon Yellow drybrush
- Scorpion Green light drybrush

On eyes and other recesses

- Blood Red (diluted)

There. Complicated, long and somewhat messy, but that's the best I could do for these "ever-changing clours".

SLAANESH

Slaanesh Beasts

- Black undercoat

- 2x Purple Ink wash

- Liche Purple drybrush
- Warlock Purple drybrush

Eyes

- Enchanted Blue
- Ice Blue highlights

Tongue

- Goblin Green
- Scorpion Green highlights
- Bad Moon Yellow highlights (edges of the tongue only)

Tail

- Tentacle Pink drybrush

Slaanesh Daemonettes

- Black undercoat

- 2x Purple Ink wash

Skin

- Dark Flesh coat (diluted)

- Vomit Brown drybrush
- Rotting Flesh drybrush

- Red Ink wash

- Tentacle Pink light drybrush
- Bleached Bone light drybrush

Claws

- Liche Purple drybrush
- Warlock Purple drybrush
- Blood Red light drybrush
- Tentacle Pink light drybrush

Gems 1

- Goblin Green
- Bad Moon Yellow highlights

Gems 2

- Blood Red
- Blazing Orange highlights

KHORNE

- Black undercoat

Skin

- Dark Flesh coat (diluted)

- Scab Red drybrush
- Blood Red drybrush

Horns

- Snakebite Leather
- Bleached Bone (diluted)
- Chestnut Ink wash (diluted)

Weapons

- Shining Gold
- Chestnut Ink wash (diluted)
- Shining Gold (old) highlights

By "old" Shining Gold, I mean the colour that used to be Shining Gold (it's a very nice colour by the way, perfect for highlights). If you don't have any, I guess adding some Mithril Silver to the present Shining Gold should do the trick.

For NURGLE, see the post below.

Right, the circle is now complete, I've done the four Chaos Gods' demons. Last but not least, here comes Nurgle!

Plaguebearers 1

Plaguebearers 2

Plaguebearers 3

Painting guide:

Well, I've shamelessly stolen Warmaster Nice's paint scheme and just added a few things of my own design, so all props should go to him, really.

- Black undercoat

- Catachan Green drybrush
- Camo Green drybrush
- Rotting Flesh light drybrush

To add some variety, drybrush (lightly) one or two models per stand in one of the following colours:

- Graveyard Earth
- Bubonic Brown
- Vomit Brown
- Bestial Brown

Eyes

- Blood Red

Teeth

- Snakebite Leather (use a VERY small brush here  :) )

Horns

- Rotting Flesh

Weapons

- Boltgun Metal

Once you've done all that, apply a mix of Black Ink and Chestnut Ink (50/50) all over the models to "harmonize" the whole.

Finally, apply a diluted Orange Ink wash on the weapons.

-------------------------------------

Right, that's it for the moment. I must now decide whether to paint my Chosen (Word Bearers or Alpha Legion, haven't decided yet) or my Banelord. Hmm, difficult choice...  :)
