I've progressed a little on painting and modelling... in particular, took that half-arsed would-be Raven Knight and went around parts-swapping. Now it needs little but some Green Stuff additions. I intend him to go with my "Veteran Squad", so he'll be wielding a banner (from Brettonian Knights set), even though there are no rules allowing Bikers to equip these... who cares, the model will still be cool looking.

But I can hardly focus on the hobby, when recent four weeks carried with them a streak of dying cats. I just keep breaking up over that.
First one of Linda's kittens, a pretty black-and-white female (much like her mother), got ran over by a car. One of the worst cases I saw, there was little left of her to bury.
Just next day... Linda herself is gone and we find her killed by a car on the very same spot. People who saw what happened say she was just sitting there and wailing.
A mere few days after, one of the two "mice" (a pair of very small mackerel-patterned kittens, apparently found abandoned by one of our kitties) has - just like that - died.
Then one of the "fatlings", the only male kitten among the triplets. He was the weakest in the bunch, but the three were far larger and stronger then most older kittens, so it was totally unexpected.
The same day, one of the blacks also died, but this one was more or less expected to happen - the kittens are going through some weird flu-like infection, and it also causes their eyelids to glue together with pus, effectively rendering them temporarily blinded. This one had it quite bad, and refused to eat anything, growing weaker and weaker.
The last - and most recent - death was one of the pretty red mackerel kittens, which apparently has climbed up one of the trees in the garden and fell down.

To make things even worse, Tigra (one of the older generation) keeps disappearing for many days at a time. We've nearly considered her dead twice already, and both times she suddenly shown up like nothing happened.

Good grief, that's a bad streak T5H. It's terrible.
Kittens tend to get struck down hard by cat flu - the eyelid gumming is characteristic. It's only vaccination which can help.
Very sad for you. It's terrible.

Hi!

Having recently adopted a little kitty, I find this distressing. My wife has alot of experience with cats (she had like 20 when I met her), they get all sorts of wierd diseases. Its just sad.

Hope this get better.

Sorry to hear about your cats, that's alot of bad luck in a very short time, I have one too that developped some kind of asthma problem, I even limit the use of glue when the cat is near.

Project wise I just started my Salamanders,
this time I'm going all out with brush-on black Gesso as a primer, instead of sprays. I'm also trying out the GHQ method of sticking the tank on a nail for easy handling when painting, so far it works, but it does look kind of weird....

Denis, looks like it will be a good project.

I am looking forward to seeing the finished project.

I have often found I liked his books, even the non-HS stories. He is a good story teller.  :)

But even his Police stories have a nice feel to them. Yes, he uses his real life experiance in his military stuff, but that is on top of his just plain being a good author.  :D

I've restarted work on a long abandoned Khorne warlord titan. A converted power fist as an equivalent to the left weapon from the banelord along with a scratchbuilt energy whip. I've actually wrapped the third "tentacle" and added the second set of claws since this photo was taken. It's my first attempt at sculpting anything and it is working better than I had hoped!
