Primarch,

I agree, it is a choice to change and not be so easy to send into a rage.

Life is too sweet and too short for us to spend it in anger.

Nice CQB, "P" !  But you are correct, life is too short for such actions ...

This is why one of the Seattle rock stations has what they call the 'Road Rage 12-pack', 12 consecutive songs, without even the DJ interrupting the rock, starting at 7am and 5pm.  Of course, I usually ended up working through the afternoon 12pack when I was in the service, but such is life (and that's why we had a radio in the office!).  Listen to the music, and enjoy the sound of Metal.

I work very hard to not get steamed by idiots while driving, although I do always contemplate putting a foot through the windshield of those idiots that run a red light while I'm crossing on foot.  After all, they just attempted an assault with a deadly weapon, so according to the RoE that was beaten into my head as a security watchstander, I'm justified in use of deadly force (reason number 1 to use deadly force:  Self Defense and defense of others, as well as reason number 4:  Prevention of a serious offense).  It's so tempting sometimes, but I can't afford the hospital bills for myself (don't think that the driver's insurance would cover my injuries, but I might get lucky)

At any rate, I'm glad to hear that idiot didn't hit you.

Believe me ... there are individuals here, that the only reason they are not dead, is that I can't get away with it ... seriously ...

I think we have all felt that at one point or another.

But it is not worth ruining your life over. Better to let the jerk go and die early because of the stress he places on his body being angry all the time.

For me, the new revenge is having a better life then he has.  :D

L4, probably 20% of the US population 'suffers' from that problem (or rather, makes the other 80% of us suffer).

Still not worth the headaches most of the time, but God help the poor fool that pisses me off when my back decides to scream  'PAIN!!!!!' at me all day... those are not good days to poke this bear.

I occasionally fall back on the line "You're not worth the Jail Time" to really zing the other guy.  Say it in a dead-flat voice, like that's the only thing keeping you from breaking every bone in his body, and you really don't care about him one way or the other.  Works wonders.

There was an article or documentary I viewed recently that said that approximately 1 out of 10 people could be classified as a 'psychopath'.  The thing that they are trying to figure out is what causes a person to 'trip', ie, go over the line and actually commit the actions they are thinking about...

And there's probably another 20% of the population that's sociopathic, too.

Don't worry Boyz, I suffer from some sort of  PTSD ... I'm not a psycho (as far as I know!)!   And I agree, better not to ruin you life by adding a KIA, WIA or MIA to your personal body count !  One guy from the gym is serving a year for Road Rage (used a bat on the other guy!) !   Some idiots I deal with back down when you're in their face but are "telephone tuff Guys "! :D    Go to VA for routine  psyk-eval in Oct ... I'll let you know if the they re-evaluate me as " FULL TILT BOZO" !  LOL!!!!   :D    My biggest upset lately(like the past 2 years) is over a 5'3" little brown-hair gymnastics instructor !  We keep trying to just be friends but my age and her confusion just keeps getting in the way ...  :(  :;):

During a heated dispute at an Ultimate game a friend of mine once said "You can just walk away from his life - he has to live in it EVERY DAY". Pretty much sums it up for me. I still reserve the right to be angry when someone tries to commit negligent vehicular homocide against me.  :p

Hi Guys,

I've always held to the rule that you shouldn't lose control in public... it's hard, but it is possible.

I've pulled to the side of the road more than once to cool down...

That and I try to stay thick-skinned and remember who my friends are and be understanding when they are having a hard time...

Not always the easiest thing to do... but it is possible and worth doing.

After all if they're a friend, you probably have already decided that they are worth it... that's the time to focus on all the good times that you've shared with that person.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

If they're a real friend, they'll be with you regardless ... I've found that out again recently ...
So what's that old saying, "Keep your enemies close, but keep your friends closer" ... that could apply on many levels ... both good and bad !  :D  Well off to church to pray for more guidance and maybe a tiny miracle ... :;):

Hi!

I think with practice you can tune out those that distress you.
