Had a good time crawling around the CFV from the 1/128 ACR (Res.). I commanded an M113A2 Co. ('87-'89), but we had orientation train on the Bradley, in prep for them eventually being issued.  Brought back memories, the smell of diesel, lubricants, etc ... Very cool.  Most of the troopers were in the new Digi-Camos, too ... I was more excited about the M2 than all the young lovelies floating around !  So I had a nice time.  Had a grilled turkey leg !  My buddy said I looked like Henry the VIII !  :D  But when I got home, must have been tainted !   Did my imitation of Linda Blair in the Exorcist !!!!   But I don't feel too bad !  I'm sure it helped with my weight lost quest !  :D   Off to work !   Yes, it is a Yank Holiday, LABOR DAY, so we'll only be opened 8-4 !  And everyone has a BBQ and goes to the Fair !   Good as it gets in my tiny corner of the Universe !  :D

Happy to hear you had a great day! ?:D

Except that now I'm green with envy... been in the office all day writing REXX procedures on a mainframe terminal.... ?

Sorry CAL, I think I will pass.

But I am sure someone will take you up on it. :;):

In any event, at least the day will be over soon.

Mmm BBQ, APC's and camo.

Sounds like a great day L4! :D

By the way, what is this digi-camo you are talking about?

In some of the latest tech news last year, there was talk that development of digital nanotech camoflage (which changes colour to match the surroundings like a cameleon) was progressing well. Surely you don't mean that though?? :O

Marines and Us Army have gone to a digital dot type cam as apposed to their old curved line woodland cams. They look a little wierd up close. Dots are about 1cm sqaure and form patterns across the material.

Cheers
CAl

Yes, CAL is correct about the new Digi-Camos ... the Russians have/had something like it ... is supposed to work better at night too !  Looks very futuristic !   One of buddies told me today that there was a Stryker, 8 wheeled AFV ...  But I missed it :(   Never saw one of those, were still a rumor on the drawing board when I was on active duty ...   Maybe next year !  Must have been busy looking at babes and looking for some good chow !!! :D

Priorities are in correct order, Eye Candy, Big Boys Toys and BBQ meats. All work together very nicely, trust me on that one. LOL

CAL.

PS Strikers are quite cool. We dont have the exact same vehicle, however we have fitted the remote weapon station to our ASLAV PC's. Mounts a variety of toys, MK19 40mm AGL, .50 CAL QCB (HB M2 for you US boys) and Javelin ATGM. You can get a 3 round group with the .50 at 2000m of about 25-50mm. Thermal, magnified optics are a great equilizer.
