I was looking for some bitz for a trade and found...

...an Imperator titan I had no idea I owned.  :O  I wonder if it's finally time to do some sort of inventory.

I wish I had a bitz box big enough to even remotely hide an Imperator...  :(

It is always a good thing to do an inventory. But it is even more important if you do a lot of trades or buy whole armies etc. It is easy for you to forget you have something if it was part of a larger buy.

An Inventory is your friend.  :D

Besides, then you can see how many points you own  :;):

Well, to be completely honest it wasn't a bitz box per se but one of the three shoeboxes I keep unpainted stuff in. In addition to that I have a E40k SM battleforce box full of stuff plus several infantry boxes and other boxes... you get the idea. I'm nowhere near Primarch but I _am_ an apprentice Primarch.

Oh, and I found five Warhouds in there as well.  :;):

Dafrca, I agree with you completely. I bought several lots from eBay last fall and lost count of my forces.

And no, I won't trade the Imperator. Because now I can have a command group for two demi legios. Both groups include an Imperator and a Warmonger.    It's just that I only have enough titans for just one demi legio. Meaning about 30 or so, not counting the 4 Emperor class titans.

I agree with dafrca, an inventory is your friend. I try to keep my inventory up-to-date. That way I know exactly what I have and I have a good estimate of how many points I own for each army.

I think this often happens when you buy a large lot for a handful of items and then plan to use the rest for "trades" later on. You never really think of them as in your collection.

At least that is what has happened to me a few times.  :p

An Imperator! Lol, I find the odd Leman Russ, and once a beetleback but not an Emperor class titan!  :)

Speaking of inventories, I finally sold off my Epic 40k era Eldar titans last week, after accumulating enough of the old (well I guess they are new again now  :D) eldar titans. I liked the epic40k era revenent, but over the years I have come to agree with most other people that  the phantom was too blocky and suitlike, and just didn't look graceful enough to fit well with the old (new) versions.

Oh come on, it will be fun!

Listing out everything you own, painted and unpainted for you to look over and enjoy!

I just found a packed away box that had inside it 90% of the plastic minis from both TL and SM! It also contained the missing torso for my third Lord of Battles and a partly finished Khorne titan conversion. So sometimes an inventory is definitely in order!  :D
