They are in week two of a 40,000 point Tunisia battle. I think Kursk is on the cards in the future, along with Normandy and Arnhem.

One of my old clients has a mail order customer in another province that is quite literally trying to do Kursk at a 1 to 1 scale using 1/285th GHQ miniatures...

As I understand it he started in about 1994 and is still buying figures for it today. He buys around $250 CDN a month worth of figs so at that rate he should be done some time around 2030 or so...

Then comes the really fun part... setting the game up.

Um, has he PAINTED the stuff he's bought so far?  :;):

Wow, I'd love to see that, I hope he's factored in the price of a rather large hall too

Excellent work on Raziel, Fifth. Can't wait to see him painted.

Sorry to hear about your cat. I know exactly what it's like to lose a cat (and a dog) to the street.

I am sorry to hear about this. I know it can be hard to loose a pet.   :(

On a more happy note, love the conversion. Looking forward to seeing it painted up!

Right now I've cleared that little saigon of a workbench I've got - all of the WIP projects were moved to storage, leaving only the miniatures that need to be cleaned from moldlines before painting. Got a few of them - just the job for this evening, I think - and after that I'll take out my painting gear. And the little saigon will be back, altough this time with painting.

Didn't paint anything in some months, and I feel like I really need to do it.

And when I'm done... I'll be working on a new one. A Spirit of Vengeance.

Dafrca, I somewhat learned to get over that quickly. I'm really more worried about her kittens (she had three). They are about two months old, though, and they have the benefit of that all the furry mothers act like one big family - every one takes care of all kittens - so the little fellas won't be growing up alone. :) Including little Nightmare with a weird mackerel/calico pattern (you'd have to see her to understand what I mean - it's mostly a mackerel but with white and red patches... strangest color mix I ever saw on a cat).
You can't stay sad for long with all the little furballs around.

Very nice GS work T5H!!

Do you press mould, or at the parts culpted from scratch?

Great stuff either way - keep it up!

I mix both ways, Tuff. Some things are easier to get by duplicating the existing parts, and it saves me some time on sculpting, but numerous details are custom-sculpted as well.

Here's what parts were moulded:
- Purity Seals (from assorted Marine models)
- skull on right shoulderpad (Legion of the Damned shoulderpad)
- large skulls on backpack vanes (Chaos Bike fairing)
- skull on left knee (not sure where did this one come from, I think it was on one of the LOTD weapons)
- sword icon on the chest (Ravenwing Biker torso)
- Crozius skull (Legion of the Damned bolter)
- Crozius wings (one of metal Dark Angels shoulderpads)

What was sculpted:
- Rivets. About thirty (yes, I WAS on the verge of nervous breakdown on the end)
- Crozius ribcage
- collar
- all the extra details on the helmet (originally it was the skull-like helmet from CSM box)
- the tiny panel with three skulls on the Jump Pack (here is a pic that shows it best, I think)
- the icon on the pistol (in three sessions, first one scrapped)
- scroll on the right shoulderpad (I did it in layers, turned out far easier when done that way)
- skull on the belt buckle (was a bit difficult, but that's why I use a needle for tool)
- the Rosarius and chain holding it (patterned after one on Chaplain on the cover of DA codex)
- sole of his right boot (it's just as basic as they go - just a bunch of indentations pushed into a flat oval of GS)
- the pieces of parchment on top of the Jump Pack (best view here), they were not as hard as I thought but still quite difficult
- random other stuff I didn't list because it's either fillers or just too basic to be mentioned

Long time no see T5H, glad to see you back.  :)

It's been interesting to follow how fast (IMO) you have picked up the nuances of greenstuff work and progressed from good to truly outstanding.

I bow to your skills.

As you can see, Mojarn, I was quite busy. ;)
I wouldn't say it was fast with GS. It's about fourth year since I started working with it, and for a year before that I was using some sort of wax-based plasticine (quite an interesting one, properties-wise, but i digress) for the same purpose on my Battletech minis.

Reminds me, I've got to take pictures of that bunch...
