Hi Luis,

Very cool!

The JR Minis buildings look very slick... they're a tad pricey though.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Nuthin wrong with a good game o 'tech.
I have a soft spot for a game of b'tech - along with OGRE it was amongst my first wargames

and if you already play 6mm, the addition of a few Mechs is a cheap way of playing something new

Very cool. I must admit that while I really want to like Battletech and the minis, they are just not for me. I find that there is a bit too much book-keeping and the mechs just look too thin and wirey for my taste...

And this is all made more painful by the fact that CAV2 was supposed to be released tomorrow (1st August) but has been delayed yet again by a couple of weeks! Argh!

Want more giant robot action!

Your very right CS, the game does not play fast, but it's the game I've lived with.

In this game we were test driving my version of the rules.  I call it Lou Tech or Low tech.  :D

I think it worked pretty well.

Oh well.  We'll see what CAV2 produces then you can have you warmachine action.

I can't help with the wiry look, or with the CAV2 release date, but I can help with the bookkeeping (and therefore speed) of BattleTech play. Visit the MegaMek project page, download the latest Stable or Development release (the Development releases have new features, but fresher bugs), and share it with your friends! ?You'll need to install Java on your computer (the Development branch needs a v1.5 version, but the Stable can be run on a v1.1 machine... commonly available on Windows 98 machines).

MegaMek is a faithful reproduction of the Classic BattleTech rules in a networked computer game. ?There are still some bugs, and some of the lesser-used rules aren't implemented, but the Stable branch could have been used to play this thread's game. ?You would have missed the visceral thrill of pushing models across a battlefield, but it harkens back to the original flat maps and cardboard counters. ?The game tracks all your damage, calculates all your target numbers, and rolls your dice. ?This prevents most rules arguments and eliminates most tedium, without reducing your tactical acumen.

Megamek is very good and free what can be better.

The only compaint I have is it's hard to see the big picture on the map. ? It hurts my strategic genius... :p

As my club's local Davion player in MWDA I was glad to see that the guys in green kicked Wobbie butt.

Thanks for sharing

Whee! I didn't know Wehrmacht had AT-ATs. Or that Leibstandarte had Mechs.  :O

Those are some very nice looking reapints/conversions. The original Battletech was bit like Star Fleet Battles to me- both way too complicated for playing other than on computer.

I wish they had kept more of the flavour of Battletech in MWDA. But I still enjoy as a good fun quick game. My main problem with it has been some of the changes that Wizkids have introduced to MWDA since they got bought out by Topps.

However I have got a whole of mechs/tanks/infantry, much of it painted in true Davion green, and so no doubt could be persuaded to play a proper game of Battletech if local players were into it.

Cheers

James
