Back to the original topic, I would be sad to see the back of the SG forums. The Epic sections are usually quite lively these days, and there's a lot of decent stuff going on in the Experimental section. And it's nice to have everything together over there, rather than spread over how many boards on this forum? Not that I don't appreciate EpiComms, of course.

Now the Inquisitor section of SG forums, that's practically dead. But that's a very different game.

I think there is a difference between saying someone sees signs of a company in decline or an area not receiving the kinds of support it should get to be a growth area, and saying that you want that company to fail.

I do not WANT to see SG die.
I do not WANT to see the SG forums fail to support the games I like.
I do not WANT GW to not sell Epic.
I do not WANT to see Epic go the way of the Squats.

But I do see that if GW does not change some of the things they are doing and SG does not get the real support (that means resources and finances and freedom to act within the marketplace) then they are headed down a bad path.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. As usual, I have to agree with you, dafrca.

Amen. Even when DRM has started to make _really_ attractie alternatives I'd still lke to see some "official" Epic minis. Like Chaos.

Again, amen. And the truth is they've been heading down that path for some time now. It's not too late to turn back yet. But pretty soon it will be.

It would be a good sign of recovery to see JJ back in Epic business for a while but lately he's been given other things to work on.   :(

The bast thing they could do for Epic is hand JJ a budget and leave him alone. Do not try and micro-manage him.

Course I will not hold my breath waiting for thaat to happen.  :p

Hmm.  'bout the only problem I ever had over there was getting whapped over the head whenever 'proxy' minis from another company were mentioned.  That doesnt happen here, so here I wound up, and here I be stayin'

oh, and you hit it spot on there, Daf.

:p

Yes the epic section is slowly recovering, and is plodding methodically through the rules issues.

I'm particularly pleased that some of these have finally been sorted out - eg pop-ups.

I actually have to admit there have definitely been some benefits to having all rules discussion in the one forum as opposed to being spread over many subforums. ?I was very much against this move when it first happened, but there are advantages to having different areas seeing what is going on in other areas and talking to each other more. ?Isn't that pretty much the same format Netepic used?? With the yahoo list?

Did they really get sorted out or did people get so sick of fighting that they gave up and one "side" won?

This is a genuine question as I know I pulled out of the Pop-Up wars because of the fighting. I am really curious if in fact it did work out through compromise or exhaustion attrition.
