I'm all for buying up all available shares of GW.  All of us working towards a common goal with one mind, just like a hive mind.

The only problem is that I'm spending all my money on 40K carnifexi, so unless the shares are dirt cheap then I might not be able to join in for a few lifetimes.

Well going by the latest financial results the shares might not actually completely suck.

How do you assure those who buy shares will vote as a block?

If I invest any real money I vote to maximise my investment. That would go against many of the things we want to do.

Further, You might want to make sure what the minimum investment is. This stock does not trade on all exchanges. That means going with Brokers who trade on the correct exchanges. So we need to know fees and minimum investments required.

The latest financial are out.  There is a whole thread about it over at Warseer already and I won't repeat my posts from there except to say that if I were still a stock broker I would be recommending to my clients to sell any GW stock they owned.  I think it's on a dead cat bounce and will go significantly lower before the company turns around.

I don't think they are in imminent danger of collapse or anything.  I just think they are on a downward trend along with all the gaming industry and possibly a little worse than average.

I find it funny when people seemed shocked that GW is doing poorly. They ignored and in some cases actively alienated their fan base. They have, in their arrogance, failed to accept the truth about who was buying their product in the long run. They ignore IP they owned and spent a large amount to license other?s IP. They tried to not only play in the retail arena, but actively tried to dominate it through unethical business practices. How can these things combined not end up showing up on the bottom line?

People, if you want to buy the shares for the long haul, go for it. But I do not expect this effort to impact them much.

The miniatures industry (in the US at least) declined 20% in 2004 and 25% in 2005. This is not an industry I would invest in.

Before everyone lets fly both all barrels, I?ll point out that in the last six months their revenue actually rose compared to the prior six months, albeit by not by much, and profit went up a lot.

They?re losing money in the US, but the US market has problems that don?t necessarily apply elsewhere.  GW does not depend on the US market.

I don?t think it?s all bad news for GW.

I think they will be paying for their adled LotR decisions for years to come personally.

And their current marketing decisions on their core games certainly haven't helped their position either...

But, if I had enough money to invest in GW to make a difference... I'd just start my own company anyways.

After all... why try and repair someone else's screw ups when you could have the chance to have your own. :D

Umm... I don't know how closely you read that investor report but in terms of pure cash flow GW dropped almost 25% of their gross yearly revenue from 2005 to 2006.

Or in other words rough 5.5 million pounds in sales vanished.

In the same time their interest payments on their debt servicing went up about 15% and their repayment of priciple remained almost identical to 2005.

Overall I'm having a hard time figuring out where your getting "profit went up" from since in actually its down 60% or more from the previous year...

As Neal said... I'd be giving serious thoughts to dumping this stock if I was an investor.

You are looking at year on year figures.  They are skewed by the crappy first half of 05/06.  Look at the performance of the second half of the year compared to the first.

Revenue was ?57m first half and ?58m second half.

Profit was ?0.1m first half and ?3.6m second half.

I call that an improvement.  What it certainly is is the first six months in three years to show an increase in revenue compared to the prior six months.

It doesn't how an increase in revenue in the slightest.

What it shows is GW had more money left at the end of the second half than they did at the end of the first half.

Why they had that money left could be due to almost anything.

Maybe in the first half they had a large set of capital expenditures... which in fact according to their report they did... or they paid the principle off on one of their revolving lines of credit.

Just because their operating profit "increased" in the second half doesn't in the slightest mean that they sold more than they did in the first half.

Plain and simple their overall sales have cratered compared to 3 years ago and the price increases are simply distorting the actual growth involved and will continue to do so for some time to come.
