You can figure out the why. It's actually simpler than the how.

I love the Darwin awards. It's a good reminder never to underestimate the stupidity of some people.

Bottom line though, I hope all this has helped TRC feel better.

Worst day in my BFG life:
Got a message from SEUR, a Spanish shipping company:
"We are sorry to inform you that one of the boxes you ordered us to transfer from Brighton to Barcelona has gone missing. As such we consider it to have been lost. We are sorry about the problems that might cause you and obviously we are transfering you the payment of the security you contracted with us. Hope that might cause you some relief of the problems caused by our faulty service.
best wishes,
SEUR staff" |
The box contained around 20 books, classnotes, papers and articles, some clothes AND MY FULL 3500 PTS PAINTED CHAOS FLEET. The reimbursed ammount was 100 pounds. Hardly to cover a few of the books, let alone the chaos fleet.
THAT did hurt. I have not painted a BFG model since. Didn't find the strength to do it.
Right now I am considering restarting it anew (been p`layting with a few unpainted ships I had left) and naming them "Seur Head Hunters" but haven't done it yet.
Talk about pain....
Xavi

Ouch Xavi- that must hurt. Feel for you. Cheers
James
PS: I love the Darwin awards- some of their urban legends category is great.

What finks! They should give you more than 100 pounds! Unless they meant 100 pounds in weight of BFG stuff.

I hate shipping companies and their lame excuses.
"Sorry" just does not cut it. They should have to pay a lot more then just a simple "here is your money back".

On a different note, yesterday WAS my day - in some ways. I was so angry I'm only writing about it today. Someone at work left a very aggressive metal-etching chemical in the labs in a glass bottle with a tight stopper - against indications. At a temperature of around 37 degrees C, the stopper popped itself off, and the stuff bubbled out. I was in the lab at the time, went to investigate the noise, and got a good dose of nitric + hydrochloric acid fumes. Luckily I instinctively drew back only just in time, and rushed out of the room pausing only to switch on the extractor. I made it with just a slightly sore throat and parched mouth. Talk about being lucky.....
