Well, pending a background check, I'm in...
It's not my ideal job, but it will work until I can find something better...
And I DO take a state job exam on the 27th of this month.

Serious, this is good. It seems like it is always easier to move up from a job then to find one when you are out of work.

Well, they have taken away a lot of the ability to find out what kind of employee you were in your past Employment. So the fear goes like this, if you were let go, then you are a higher risk of being a problem child. 
Unfair, but true. If they were to allow your past employeers to say discuss why you were let go, then people might find it less of an issue unless you were an issue.

I DO have a job right now... it's just that it's not a great job and not too reliable...
The odd thing is that I was just promoted today to a supervisor with a raise...
It's still not enough to stay, but the gesture is appreciated.
