So... I got around to painting my Warhounds on sunday night. And yesterday my Voraces arrived, to stand in for Knight Lancers since I can't get ahold of these things. Finally got around to painting my Knights Paladin and the Voraces about an hour ago. Took a few photos, thought people might enjoy seeing them.

First up, Warhounds!

A nice top-down shot.

And a front-shot.

And. The Paladins and 'Lancers' for my forces.

Hope you people like them. They probably aren't the greatest, but they turned out fairly well I think.

Excellent. Those Voraces look very close to a Knight conversion project I wanted to do a while ago. Once my finances stabilize I'm definitely getting some. I'll probably be changing the weapons outfit a bit and redo the shoulders slightly but apart from that they'll be perfect!

I like them cus they look appropriate to something armed with heavy laser/shock weapons, and they're about the right size too. If it weren't for the really gigantic bases on the Knights Paladin they'd be almost the same size (The paladins are actually slightly taller, but only because they're hunched over fowards so their shoulders extend considerably above their heads). I've been kinda tempted to get copies of the Andrayada super-walkers to use as titans as well. Especially the Majestic and Mordent would fit spectacularly as a Warlord and Reaver. And the best part: They're actually to 1/300th scale instead of 1/600th scale!

All that's left now is to decide how I'm gonna try to paint my Warlords... Which I'm kinda drawing a blank on. I was thinking of going camo-colored like the Warhounds, not sure how well that'd work out on something as large as a Warlord though.

I would do something similar for the Warlords so that they look like they're part of the same legion. That's what I did with mine.

Looking like a good force.

If I was to offer one painting tip, it'd be to take a *ridiculously* watered down mix of black paint and run it over the surface of the Knights and BaM, instant shadow / shading effect.

How are you thinking of doing the bases?

I do the top down view as camo (the satelite view), the front etc views are done 'fancy'.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with the bases at present. I was thinking I might paint them with jel-medium and dip them in sand, put a few rocks on them for added bonus. It's easy and cheap. I might go over the knights with a black-wash, but I don't think they need it. Those photos are far more 'even' in coloration then they are IRL. The paint itself is reflective, being metallic, so the flash from the photograph makes them look much brighter then they actually are.
