dafrca remembers these discussions, unless his therapist has helped him repress the memories. ?

In truth, some of those were great learning moments for me. I think The Real Chris posted the link to the whole Forum so others could go check them out.

Speaking of titan weapon "discussions" in the old forum, where is my Finnish fan club?   :p

I challenged him to a game of epic when he came to epic so he could show me how broken it was. I was fairly confident (the all AMTL list I don't think ever actually won a game appart from the warhound monstrosity and dystartes unlucky marines) but also won't get the chance to show him the error of his ways as he flat refused :(

All things require a begining. :;):

And you are off to quite a good begining in my opinion. ?:;):

Hi!

Good point. Just try the values you came up with and adjust accordingly.

Rounding costs to the nearest 25 point interval will go a long way to making it more acceptable, IMHO.

I know a lot of people like clean 25 point divisions, and hate having a few points wasted at the end of their army lists.

I'm seriously considering changing my list to a 25 point system, but what to do about units like the Warhound?

50 points is, IMHO too cheap for a plasma Blastgun, while 75 will leave you with a Warhound that will always have 5 points left over. I do not know if 25 point dividers are reasonable at such a 'macro' scale as a Titan Legion force.

This is just a small example, but it is a hurdle that the entire list would have to face.

Either all weapons are made as equal, which IMO lacks character (And also utility), or we have a list where there are more subtle dividing lines that 25 points.

First off, a word to people who have been through discussions with me: No, I am not going to revive any of my discussions about equalizing weapons, so relax.  I've already written off this AMTL list, and Epic: Armageddon in general, so I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you guys anymore.  I'm just trying to be nice to Mr. Evil and Chaos...

Evil and Chaos:  You would be surprised how easy it is to make an interesting and wide variety of weapons that are pretty equal to each other.  I've done such a thing that I am very happy with.  The really hard part is to get other people to listen or be willing to accept what you have come up with.  Please feel free to continue to work on what you are doing, as long as you enjoy it and it brings you satisfaction.  Just be prepared for it to not go anywhere beyond your design table...

Eh. I have a heathly dislike for one-size-fits all lists, and if I can create a balanced points-based list then I'll do that.

Am I expecting to revolutionize the vast world of AMTL? Of course! I'm going to be king of North London by the end of the month too! :p

If the community wants it, then they'll adopt it, if not, then it was an interesting time for me anyway.

So far the majority of the feedback has been lukewarm-to-slightly positive...

I, for one, am interested in what you are doing, Evil. I've always preferred having individual costs for each weapon. That's one of the things I like about NetEpic over SM2. Keep up the good work.
