Ordered in Chinese today for lunch and closed my door of my office and opened up my box of 15mm Striker Minis. :D

Old OOP minis, Cashew Chicken, a Diet Coke, and 20 minutes of quiet.

Then it was back to work. :O

Just found out that one of my local friends wants to do a project on the 9th as well.

Who knows, get enough people doing this and we just might have an impact on the piles of unfinished and unpainded projects out there.

Spent some time today stripping off paint from some 15mm troops.

Would love to know what some people use to paint these things with, armored paint. ???

A few of my guys the paint resisted 24 hours in PineSol.... ?:o0

That is some tough paint.

I use a soak method in Simple Green.  I usually dump them in for about a week or so, though 24hrs should be enough.

Ive found that the solvent has to get under the paint somehow, and that scraping a few holes in the paint layers down to bare metal in the mini before soaking really helps.  A quick scrub with a toothbrish then gets most of it off, though deep crevices may need more attention from the knife.

hope that helps mate! :D

Sorry for the mix up TAS. I ment what did they paint it with. None of my normal work helped on a few of these guys.  :;):

I think they were painted with a special solvent resistant paint in 20 coats with eight or ten coats of varnish on top of that.

I have not seen many paint jobs resist an hour or two in PineSol and nothing lasted 24 hours.

Anyway, to your point, I have been thinking of moving over to Simple Green because it is less toxic in both fumes and touching the skin. Any time the pure PineSol gets onto your skin, you do get a chemcal burn if you do not wash it off right away.
