thats my final thread snapping.

Id rather play VSF anyway and some of those Titans will make excellent Iron Giants in 15 or 28mm
Bargains to be had - watch this space

EDIT - It would be interesting to graph the price rise of a Epic minis since SM2 era days and compare that to inflation, but I wont because (a) it will make me angrier, and (b) Ive had enough and cant be bothered.

Well, you'd also want to correlate "number of models" for a given price as well... I mean, only if you wanted to get *REALLY* angry...

I wish we could raise this issue on the SG forums, where someone from GW might actually see it, but since pricing discussion is strictly verboten, it wouldn't get anywhere.

Is there going to be an increase in the UK/EU markets?  I haven't been able to find anything on the GW/UK website about it.

I can hardly find the words to express my thoughts. Well, that's one way to prove that nobody's buying epic, raise the f****** prices. I can't believe GW doubled some of the prices.

It looks to my like we're on the precipice of the next Epic Dark Age.

Hi!

You mean ANOTHER dark age....

..we had one not too long ago...

..another is obviously forthcoming...

..prepare my brothers to carry the lowly candle light into that darkness....

Primarch

My bad, yes I did mean ANOTHER Dark Age.

I really do hate to be a doomsayer, but....

I will be truly amazed if GW releases anything new. Unfortunately, it looks like Feral Orks were the last release.

Vive DRM!  :D

I know it would get locked right away, but I'm tempted to say something on the SG forum. Hell, I wouldn't even care if the SG mods banned me for life.

HHmm... "price per model" = ppm

If I can find historical data for the price of pewter I might just give this a go.

and "Nids" from other manufacturer's ranges.

And which manufacturers would these be, then?  There seems to be a shortage of good 6mm bugs.

A mix of Pendraken, Brigade and Warrior.  I'm using the smaller 10mm figures as the larger units such as Warriors, Hive Tyrnants, Raveners and Carnifexes.  (I have used a GW 40k Tyrant Guard as a bio titan becuase it's a cool model and a good centrepiece.)

They aren't as high quality sculpts or casts as some of the GW stuff and they don't look like GW bugs but at the prices charged they'll do me for a third string army.

thats my final thread snapping.

I understand, mine broke a while ago.

Too bad because I figure I have spent more then $600 this year alone in game and game related items. GW would have received a goo dpart of that, but not this year nor any year to come.

I am so sick of hearing that the older gamers do not spend money etc as an excuse for GWs failures. They are pure and simple morons.

If you REALLY want to save Epic, show GW that there is a market for it. Buy their products.

At prices like that? If the minis were made of gold I might.

And I wonder how it is possible for ALL the other 6mm manufacturers to make comparable stuff for a lot less. Take GHQ, AFAIK the manufacturer of the most epensive micro armor. Their stuff is second to none in quality and detail.

Let's see:
GW Ragnarok: $22 for a blister of 3.
GHQ KV-2: $8.95 for a blister of 5.

GW Feral Ork Junkatrukk: $22 for 6.
GHQ GAZ Trucks: $8.95 for 5.

GW Siege Arty battery (3 guns & tractors): $20
GHQ 105mm howizer (2 guns & halftracks): $8.95

See the difference? And GHQ is the most expensive. ?:/

Hi!

I understand the general idea behind his post, but like Mojarn, we've been around the block a LONG time in regards to GW's policies towards epic.

They create their own vicious cycle:

create epic game - dont support it - raise prices - dead game

IF they had reasonable prices I think they would sell. After all back in the SM2 days prices were reasonable and it sold well.

You cant expect to sell a game where you give little to know support and price it excessively.

The current price increases is GW's way of telling you they will soon pull the epic line.

Hi!

That graph is easy to make...

..its a straight diagonal line upwards...

..with the same line downwards in reagrds to how many minis you get for the price...

..in summary, yes you'd be pissed to see that graph....  :;):

I was pretty much planning on buying a feral ork army and enough new SMs to finish my new White Scars army.

After the ridiculous price of Squiggoths I pretty much dumped half of my intended Feral purchase and redesigned the force as a hardcore infantry horde.

The price of finishing my White Scars was already a bit daunting given that it's a lot of metal but I had just about come to terms with actually buying all new blisters to get it done in one pass.  I'm not so sure now.

I would really like to talk to their marketing people.

And I don't mean that in a "dark alley" kind of talk, though that is currently tempting also.

So if I want that last few packs I need to buy them?

I think I will pass. I have other, larger fish to fry for now.
