Sorry to hear of your loss dafrca, thinking of you.

I agree that The Island was junk. It was deeply flawed IMO.

Thanks, I appreciate the thoughts. I believe both are together and happy right now.

As for the movie, I like how you put it, it was deeply flawed.

Back a long time ago, when I first learned to drive, I let the clutch out too fast and the car jurked several times real hard. Well that is how I felt in this movie. It felt like there was no real flow. I never really cared about the characters. I think it was also the fact that so much was sort of a "done that already" type thing.  :/

Oh well. Looking forward to the next DVD, I have picked up a few new DVDs and will watch one of them. Narnia and an Alien/Aliens set.

Hey if you need anything (from Spain of course  :p ) call me !!

I saw the islan film and...bleh :(8:  I didn't like that film.

Narnia is a good film to the children. Well a few days ago I saw a very curious film, CSA:Confederates Sates of America!!!

It's a film that describes an different temporal line where the confederates won the civil war. The film is filmed like a BBC historical program!!

great film.

And now I?m playing the XBOX full Spectrum warrior, it's great game!

I love the sargent's "go go go!!!"

Was this a DVD or TV?

Sounds interesting either way. Will have to go look it up!

Other suggestion is Cashern or Avalon this two in DVD and the faboulous Ghost in the shell: innocense

I love the fantastic films!!

Not yet seen the Island. I thought the basic idea had potential but you are not the first to question it's execution.

I also picked up the Aliens box set a couple of weeks back. It was dirt cheap in local shop. I think it was ?20 for all 4 films. Even if only enjoy first couple that's not so bad.

So far have watched the first film plus commentary plus making of. Was going to save the Directors Cut for next weekend. And then start on the 2nd movie....

Cheers

Painter Ooops?..

Well one of my main painters has informed me that he is done with his part time working life and will be joining the world of full time workers. So he and I have tried to clean up the remaining stuff he had so we could adjust our ?expectations?.

He had two squads of Olive Green Troops and one Squad remaining of my Traveller/Striker Security Troopers (Midnight Blue).

He calls me on Saturday night and says, ?I have some guys for you.?

I say, ?Great, how many??

?Just one squad, but it is the ten man squad? he says.

?Wonderful, that?s the last of the midnight blue guys? Silence on the other end??.

I ask, ?Dennis are you still there??

I hear softly ?Shit? :O

?Dennis, did you paint them Olive??

?Yes? long pause, ?shit?.

Another long pause and he continues?.?Never mind I?ll redo them?

Well to make a long story short I just could not see him dumping them into PineSol so I told him to bring them anyway. They look fine and will make a great set of gunners for my one SPA Battery.

Thus went one day in the life of a poor painter??.. :O

I hope someday he will laugh about this, I know I am.

Oops! :O I just think you're brave leaving your painting in the hands of other people.  I guess it's one way of saving yourself the sweat and tears to get that nice looking army done...

BTW, sorry to hear about your recent family situation.  I hope that it's of comfort to you to know that a bunch of miniature collecting fanatics, scattered around the world almost at random, are all rooting for you... (myself included, of course) :)

That was very nice of you to keep the minis as is. He must have been relieved.

It was quite easy. The choice was:

1) Never get the bulk of my stuff painted

or

2) Allow someone to paint for you and pay them.

As i wanted to get my stuff painted, it was an obvious choice.

It does make quite a big differance. It is nice to know so many people have reached out with their thoughts and prayers etc.

Thank You

Well he has done a great job for me and charged me a reasonable price so it did not seem that big of a deal to me. Plus it was not like I could not use them for the Olvie Green army.

Either way, it was a funny phone call.

Dafrca has also been maliciously encouraging others to buy more 15mm sci-fi minis

Ah but that is my new mission in life. To bring all to the saving power of the 15th millimeter. ?:p

EDIT: Well that and learn to spell too.
