					| I am not sure if anyone has seen Signs and Portents #33 - the latest issue of the webzine from Mongoose. Anyway, there is a bio of the birth of the company, and this caught my eye. I thought that others here would find it interesting:
 ---

Why Mongoose? Well, and understand that I am not proud to admit this (this is actually the first time I have told anyone, so keep it to yourselves ? all 30,000 of you?), we always had an in-joke that Games Workshop acted like a cobra, hypnotising its prey and forcing them to buy things. We were out to kick everyone?s collective butt in the gaming industry so we would be the mongoose to their cobra? see the follow through line there? Well, a lot of beers were involved (actually, I think it was Snakebite in those days, coincidentally enough), and that is all I will say on the matter.

					| Given that they viewed GW as a cobra, then Mongoose is indeed an appropriate name. Of course, I usually think of GW not as a snake, but rather a voracious, soul-sucking demon. But hey, that's just my opinion.   _________________

					| Funny, I have alway thought of GW as a large baby who does not know it's abilities, tosses too many tantrums, needs a good nap, and poos all overitself on a regular basis.| Quote (Dwarf Supreme @ 10 May 2006 (07:48)) | | Given that they viewed GW as a cobra, then Mongoose is indeed an appropriate name.
