I think the current expectation is that DRM will be creating their own rules set to go with the stunning new models that they have created.  Now this leads to a couple of questions -

1 - Will those rules allow for the incorporation of GW / FW Epic models and races?

2 - Will the NetEpic team be writing specific rules for these races with in the GW fluff setting or will they be used as proxy models only?  Human - IG, Kraytonian- Slann / Tau and Andrayadas as Necrons.

Interesting questions.

I had not heard Doug was doing his own rules set. Would love to see what he has come up with.

GW races cannot be incorporated as it would constitute an infringement of copyright.

I believe that DRM will be writing a set of rules.

I'm hoping Netepic uses DRM minis as proxies.

Hi!

I am waiting for the line to be fleshed out more before I issue an article on how to use DRM minis as proxies. They have a whole host of stuff in the pipeline that will make excellent proxies.  :D

Yes, DRM is writing a set of rules to go with the miniatures. ?Vanvlak is right. ?Directly having GW names and miniatures would be copywrite infringement. ?That doesn't mean there could be a section with guidlines for building your own units.

Yes, DRM is writing a set of rules to go with the miniatures. ?

So, was this information publicly given somewhere or is it just we have insiders here and some of us non-insiders are just hearing it?

From the first paragraph on the DRM homepage: Dark Realm Miniatures provides a range of 6mm Sci-Fi miniatures, which its hopes will be supported by a rule set that is currently under development.

There may be a few official Leakers on these boards ?:blues:

Doug has confirmed previously & I can back up Audreys comment here that there certainly will be a rules set.

HOWEVER.

It is in early stages. The Primary goal was to put out the nicest range of 6mm sci fi available & to plug a gap in the market left by other manufacturers. This has been somewhat achieved, but is obviously ongoing & will be for a considerable time - theres a lot more models to come!

Work now continues on a rules set, Fluff etc, but please dont start emailing Doug (or me or others!) with a million offers for playtesting!

We appreciate your enthusiasm & I am quite sure EpiComms will hear all about it as soon as there's anything ready for a general playtest release, but they're not to that stage just yet & may not be for a while to come. Doug, understandably, wants the rules & surrounding product to live up to the high standards of the miniatures and we have the talent on board the team to create that (you know who you are if you're reading - good work all round thus far :;): :blues: ) but it still takes time.

Thanks Paul and those who answered for me.

Basically I couldnt have put it any better, we are doing some rules and I am wanting to have something that lives up to the standard we are setting with the miniatures that are available and the ones that are being released in the future.  I know that we wont please everybody but that still doesnt mean that standards can slip.

Proxies or filling gaps, we would get into trouble regarding that and it really is down to the players themselves.  I dont want to step on anyones toes so if you want to use GW models then thats up to you :)

I have had offers to playtest but again in similar words to Paul I dont have something that is that far ahead.  You guys will be the first to know.  I do intend to have downloadable rules that can be tested in the future but until that happens its a case of we are progressing as fast as possible without sacrificing quality :)

Cheers
Doug

I did not know if that ment he was doing something or if he was working with Maksim on his game. Did not say Who was doing the development. Knowing Maksim was part of the same "inner Circle" group, I didn't assume Doug was doing his own game.

Maybe I made too little assumptions and should have assumed it ment Doug. ?:;):

Hi Guys,

I'm not part of the DRM team in any way.

I would like to be though... if Doug changes his mind.

I have an idea who are the DRM playtesters / developers are, but that's Doug's information to release if he wishes to do so.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I just made some assumptions that were wrong, sorry if it caused any issues for you maksim or for anyone else.
