I was thinking of going to this event, however as mentioned else where:

http://www.epic40k.co.uk/epicomm....to+arms

http://www.epic40k.co.uk/epicomm....to+arms

There seems to be an issue with what army lists will be allowed.

Would we as players simply agree not to bring Nids if they insist on v3 rules? Was anyone asked what lists we, the players, think should be allowed at the tournament.

Are there people talking to the organisers of the event - the fact that they've increased the number of valid lists is perhaps some indication of intent and support.

I just wanted to know what people who are going intentions are... I probably will buy a ticket anyway (it's more epic, and I enjoy it too much to care really).

I don't want to start a "why do GW hate us thread", I want to know only about people who actually are going to attend CtA.

Good luck!

You will have to report back about the event and share photos too.

They have missed the white scars and speed freeks as well, they are official, but they aren't listed.

Lists left off or using wrong versions. Interesting.  ???

Oh, I'm going and I will demonstrate the broken aspects of the CSM list, so hope you don't play me :) If I'm right though and win every game horribly I'll be refusing any prize as to be frank I won't deserve it.

Using the lists as given, understanding the rules as given, and knowing the advantages one list has, does not IMO, make you not deserve the prize if you win.

It is not like you cheated or broke the rules in some secret way. Shame on them fro not understanding their own game and lists better.  :)

Kill 'em all, let the Emperor sort them out.  :p

Thank you, it's honourable behaviour like this that makes playing epic fun, especially at tournaments.

I can't agree with you dafrca, just because you can do something doesn't mean you should - especially if it will affect the enjoyment of what is our only official epic tournament of the year.

But, I can't stop other people bringing nids or CSM, and I can't comment on them - never having seen them played. If they aren't too broken by peoples opinion then majority rules. I just put my faith in the spirit of fun - if the games are enjoyable I don't mind. If I get slaughtered after turn 1 I'll be less than pleased having paid to enter. That is all I have to say on the matter. I look forward to seeing people there (must remember to buy a ticket)

Simon

PS has some one contacted them about the omission of speed freeks? Either it's a significant typo, or the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Not that it affects me, I'll be bringing my faithful Orks - ammended from OW5.

I've only wiped out the opposition once in turn 1 and that was my guard verse marines, he couldn't make a single armour save, and every assault went wrong. Sadly since then I feel I've only managed at best average luck.
And 8 3BP MW Ignore cover guns isn't that harsh :)

Well, slight exageration, it would be 4 3BP units and 2 6bp formations :)
Its the warhound with extra bits unit and SHT with big gun.

As for avoiding its only got a shotish range (45cm for the SHT for instance). You could assault them, but they are pretty nifty in assault.

I'd shoot them with batteries of TK guns and they will be coming towards you after all.

Just curious Chris but what would the 4 x 3BP units be as feral titans are 300 points so max of 3 in 3k ,(I thought the 2 x 6 BPs would be 2 formations of 2 decimators).

Could you put a bit of info from the rules pack(scoring system ,paints scores etc.) in a post as for some reason my computer will not let me download it .

Hopefully I will be able to make it to C2Arms this year (wife is putting in holiday at work).

It will be good to see if the BL list is as ready for officiallness as is thought by some and that you will try to prove it either way by using them to ?the best of your ability in the tournament. We haven't found them too bad in our group but we usually use 6000 point lists for gaming and that may balance out any discrepencies.

I'm a lemon, I can play wargames but can't count - 2700 points is 3 hounds + army, for some reason my brain then informed me at 3000 I could have another one :) And then of course I never doubted my first post!

Yes the 0-2 limit makes the bp weapons less of a problem the bigger the army. Doesn't do much at 2700 though.

So does Nick fancy coming, he could try an all WE IG list as a dry run for the titans :)

Hmm, I'll cut and paste the info up on a post here - you can all be baffled by basing too!

I emailed Che (GW events team) this morinig about the issues with ther armylists for Call to Arms.
He responded straight away and was very concerned - basically he doesn't follow epic closely and had just asked Andy Hall for a list of armies. He asked me to send him an 'ideal' list of what armies should be allowed so he could take them back to Andy and Brian(?) and try to revise the list.

I responded with the 8 published lists -SM, Orks, IG, Eldar, Ferals, Speed Freeks, Siegemasters and White Scars and that BL and L&D was really a judgement call with reasons for and against.

He did seem genuinely concerned with the issue

I would urge anybody who was concerned/planning to contact him to do so as a large number of emails on the subject might help when he takes the issue back to Andy
