So, its Saturday, and that means shopping for my wife! We decided to travel to Milton Keynes as we have been there a few times (for those non-UK residents, MK is a 'new town' about 60 miles North of London).
Anyway, we turn up, and I run right into this:
Collector Fair
Pushing through the Klingons and Daleks, and the autograph hunters, there were some very tempting stalls set up... but I resisted the urge after an expensive Salute weekend seven days ago.

Events like this are not good for me. They have a way of makeing me spend more money then is wise.

Fun. I have no money, which is a good thing. Serious.
Anyway, I'm trying to get back from my trips to other forums besides BFG related ones (music/Tool). But, whoa, flaming & cursing without being banned can be quite a relief.

I prefer the more sane and friendly ones like this one.

Wow, not too shabby! Wish I'd made it, that setup looked immense!
Get a chance to speak to any of them? Best I've managed in my time is a compliment from Gav Thorpe regarding my T-shirt and a chance to say "Hi" to Patrick Moore...

Dude! Had I known you were there we could have met up!
Best I have managed is to jabber with Adam West and Gil Gerard. Adam is a really nice guy, although he did keep calling my mate names which did cause a certain amount of friction .

There must have been about 15 'stars' there - ranging from 'who the hell are you' to the more recognisable. It was a large setup, and fairly impressive.
I think that my favourite 'celeb meet' was when Rachel Stevens was queueing in a restaurant behind me! Still, I have also met Johnny Ball (very cool), Robert Llewelyn (must be spelt wrong) and a few others.
I didnt get to talk to any of these guys, as they were tucked behind barriers and the event was charging fifteen ounds for an autograph and meet. I am not that much of a fan-boy!
And Tom, if I had known that I was going more than an hour in advance, I would have PM'ed you.

You met Rachel Stevens?!? Oh man, now that is a girl I would love to have an epic encounter with - pardon the pun.

Quote (CyberShadow @ 01 May 2006 (23:02)) | And... | Hi C/S- did you get to meet Mira Furlan??
I know most of the B5 fanboys love Claudia Cristian/Ivanova but I always prefered Mira as Delenn. Even in Season 1 when she had a bonehead with no hair!!
Cheers
James
