I work at Powell's, and always watch to see if used copies of old GW books come in. I was excited to see that Waaargh! The Orks had been received at one of our other locations, so I requested them to send it over via the interstore truck route. It arrived wrapped in shrinkwrap. I opened it up and noticed to my chagrine that the cover was loose. Oh well, the pages were in excellent shape; a few minutes with the hot glue gun would fix it up. I flipped through the pages. Damn, there's a lot of Epic stuff in here. Look, there's a Gargant! I flipped to the front and noticed that it started with page 5. Looks like the first few pages are missing. I started reading about some Princeps battling with the machine spirit of his Titan. This didn't seem very Orky at all! I finally deduced that I had the better part of Codex Titanicus wrapped in the cover of Waaargh! The Orks I sure as hell wasn't going to pay US$17.50 (after my employee discount) for this. Still, I didn't want to send it back; it would almost certainly go straight into the dumpster, and I'd be left Codex Titanicus-less. After talking to two differant managers, I finally managed to get the thing for free, since we obviously couldn't sell it. Yay for me!

Great find, Pariah. Congrats. I'm glad I got my copy when it first came out.

Hi!
The old books were very good. Lots of good fluff and pictures.

Okay, the plot thickens. Now something showed up described as "Codex Titanicus." I had it sent over. Guess what it was!

Waaargh, the Orks? ? | Yep! With the Codex Titanicus cover, and the first four pages of Codex Titanicus. A few minutes of effort with the ol' hot glue gun, and the universe will be back in balance!
Primarch, I managed to pick up the second Realm of Chaos book off bookfinder.com for around US$8 + shipping. Just a few more books, and my Rogue Trader -era collection will be complete! (sinister laughter)

It seems I'll have to find those Ork books somewhere; I only have the Battle Manual and Vehicle Manual for Rogue Trader.

Heh, I knew it! Nice work - I love those old books too - sadly, all I have are Ere' we go (sounds like a primary schoole reader! ) and Freebooterz. And the od, old Blood Bowl compendium. Ofh, and Codex Titanicus of course
