Quote (Chroma @ 05 April 2006 (10:59)) | Quote (Moscovian @ 05 April 2006 (16:53)) | Did you guys see the Battlestats on Eldar lately? ?Eldar dropped below 60% as part of their steady decline for the year. |
Yep, I noticed that drop when I was posting results after the weekend... it's a *good* thing to me.
Okay, maybe not all formations need a point increase, all our testing with the "10% Rule" was using Ulthwe anyway. ?The skimmer changes, a few point tweaks: Wraithguard and Titans, and I think it's "problem solved" for the Eldar.
The Spirit Stones being a problem because they are "unfluffly" is completely irrelevant to balancing the army list, it was just a "cute" way of referring to a blast marker management technique for the Eldar and I think people should stop trying to figure out some "explanation" for it in the game world.
And I've got to disagree with you on Jetbikes Moscovian, they rock! ?It's 200 points for flying Space Marines: ?Armour 4+, FF 4+, 35cm movement! ?They are great in support and for attacking CC units, especially coming out of a 'Gate! | Chroma and Marscovian,
I've said it before - I'm on board with giving these group of suggestions a try.
Revenants up, warlock down Point tweaks in the list as mentioned - ps, I'm with chroma on bikes The general throught process behind the 10% rule is appealing to me.
The spirit stone rule would not be a problem if it was paid for in the BT list. Many have said that before.
The problem is that idea was shot down by the champ, so we all went back to fine - if you are not going to 'charge' for it, then it can't be list wide.
We just need a champion that's on board with a realistic solution, one way or the other, to bring the list back into 'balanced' realms.
Regarding battlestats, I think its a completely irrelivent source to rely upon. All players aren't using it. Many people that did use it - no longer do (I fall into that category). Not to mention that agenda driven individuals can just falsify data and input as they wish - blah.
Even if the data input was actually close to accurate, there's no way to sort based upon a given point in time vs. a given version of lists so you look a large conglomerate of data mixed with all the versions of the various lists.
Battlestats has no weight in my decision of balance regardless of whether I'm looking at Eldar, Marines, Tau, Chaos or whatever... its just garbage in and garbage out IMHO.
Cheers,
