Quote (ragnarok @ 03 April 2006 (23:17)) | Eventually all epic minitures will be 28mm scale. | Funny you should mention that. We were discussing the other day about using Epic minis for 40K! No, not on a one-to-one basis, but having an Epic stand represent a 40K figure.
For vehicles, we figured you would make this large "movement tray" and put a bunch of Land Raiders on a Land Raider-shaped movement tray. To represent a lost gun, you might remove a specific model from a position on the tray.
No, we were not drunk when we thought of this, but it was late at night. Probably will never do it, after all, the first problem with the idea is using the 40K rules...

I forget who, but a member here has based his epic infantry one per base to create a "travel" version of 40k.

I've tried to convince people to play 40k using epic minis, but without changing anything else. It makes the absurdly short ranges in 40k seem a lot more realistic. Blast templates can catch a lot more guys, but you can still spead out the troops.
Through, you would tend to lose track of your infantry, as they're so small.

40k rules are very weak ... and ranges are just goofy ... So 6-10mm Epic is the way to go !

The only problem would be the vehicles, so create a vehicle shaped movement tray.
When I tried playing with single Epic figures, I used a hole punch to punch magnetic sheet. I then glued the Epic bases to the magnetic rounds. I found that playing on a magnetic sheet was problematic, but playing on a little sheet of metal was fine.
Getting little sheets of metal through the airport scanners was sometimes problematic, as some TSA thought the edges looked "dangerous".
