I just got my copy of the 2006 FW catalogue in the mail today and upon opening it I discovered that Epic has been entirely removed from the treeware version.
Theres still a couple of pages of BFG at the back but the big push is on 40k... to the point where 45 pages of the 56 page total is 40k.
Well then... I'm not quite sure what to make of this. But, lets just say it doesn't really give me a heck of a lot of optimism as to the future of FW support for E:A.

The rumor I heard was that FW left epic out of the catalogue to save pages, but will continue to carry epic and can still be bought online.

Yes. I got a copy of this with my latest EA Tau order... and then another to fix the problems... and then another for further problems! On the third call, I asked about this, and I was told that they simply did not have the room for the Epic stuff, and that it was all on the web site. I guess that Epic players dont use the treeware catalogue anyway.

I can understand the space issues but... out of site out of mind and all that.
I just found it distressing considering the amount of epic thats gone "out of print" in the last year or so.

There was some nice looking stuff in the catalogue though you have to admit... Even if they completely ignore Epic now in it.
I've purchased some Grey Knights and some Hydra platforms recently from them. The models are excellent quality (especially the Hydra's). Not really looked at the Grey knights yet. Although they looked to need a lot of cleaning before painting.
So tempted to buy a 40k Super Heavy tank or Warhound and have it sat next to the TV in the lounge!

Maybe you guys need some perspective.
When did forgeworld release its latest model for epic?
When did forgeworld release its latest model for BFG?
When did forgeworld release its latest model for warhammer fantasy?
When did forgeworld release its latest model for warmaster?
Answering those questions might make you feel better, if you consider that far more epic models are available for forgeworld than are available for WFB (a core game).

I was just trying to point out that the output of Forgeworld isn't a good measure of how committed (or uncommitted) GW is to a particular game. The fact that GW has its head up its butt w.r.t. Epic is another issue entirely.

The fact that GW has its head up its butt w.r.t. Epic is another issue entirely. | Not quite unfortunately... I'll have to see if I can find the thread in question but someone here on this board once pointed out that the Epic produced by Forge World is done in the sculptor's "spare time".
If the GW commision rate for 40K models from FW triples as it appears to have that spare time goes away.
No spare time = no new epic figs
Make no mistake about it. Forge World is ultimately a business unit of Games Workshop and while they appear to have had a fair amount of latitude in the past as to what they put out GW appears to have reigned them in.
Even if it's just by releasing models tied into the Imperial Armour series.

Still disapointing that FW would nt want to advertise their existing FW Epic figures..... James
