Got in two Eldar games so far this week, one against 'Nids and the other against a "Deathwing" army.  The Deathwing was slaughtered down to 3 models in three turns, mainly due to my opponent's inexperience with that type of Marine setup, but the 'Nid match was fun and I'll be putting it up over the next day.

Turn 1

No teleports.

Strategy Roll: Alaitoc

The Ranger Warhost advances to a slightly better position in the ruins and fires on Warrior Swarm 2, to no effect.

The Nightspinners power up their weapons, but something has gummed up the mono-filament projectors and repeated attempts to clear them fail, so they regroup and consider their options for next turn. (Using your re-roll at the start of a turn, and still failing, really sucks.)

Lesser Node 1 sends its brood scampering forward on a suicide charge to engage the Ranger Warhost. ?Despite a flurry of claws and teeth, only 3 Rangers go down (3 out of three War Walker hits were saved!) and 3 Hormagaunts are killed, but the Tyranids win and push the Eldar back.

The Nightwings buzz in far from any flak and blast Warrior Swarm 2, to no effect.

The Genestealers feel the urge to march, but also feeling lazy and barely make any progress across the battlefield (That was one?)

Falcon Troupe 2 prepares to double up against the enemy, but then decide to hang back and regroup? yeah, that's the ticket, we'll regroup!

The Hierophant trumpets, and doubles forward through the ruins and woods.

Having a good line of sight with some of their tanks, Falcon Troupe 2 sustains fire on the Hierophant, but its hardened carapace turns away the hits.

Tyrant 1 marches its swarm forward, and one Carnifex is slain as it slams into a tree!

Guardian Warhost 2 prepares to engage Tyrant 1's swarm, thinks better of it, and shoot some ineffective shots.

Warrior Swarm 1 doubles forward, and finds itself just barely out of range of any targets.

Guardian Warhost 1 doubles forward towards Warrior Swarm 1, getting into a fantastic support position, and fire some wild pot shots.

The Vyper Troupe races up to engage Warrior Swarm 1, with the support of the nearby Guardians. ?The battle is horrific? for the Eldar, as only 2 Termagants are killed, the Vypers are wiped out, and the one of the Warwalker pilots in the nearby broken Ranger Warhost abandons his machine!

Feeling the call of the wild, Warrior Swarm 2 attempts to double, fails, and spawns a single Termagant, leaving most of the suicide charge of Node 1's swarm well out of synapse range?

The Jetbike Troupe appears from the Wraithgate to engage Warrior Swarm 2, they manage to kill 1 Termagant and 1 Tyranid Warrior, but lose a catastrophic 3 Jetbikes in the process and flee towards the Tyranid Blitz.

Tyrant Swarm 2 doubles toward Guardian Warhost 1 and lays a single blastmarker on them.

The Autarch's Troupe makes a lateral double toward Tyrant 1's swarm, but scores no hits.

End of Turn:

None of the broken Eldar units rally, the Nightwings take a single blastmarker on the way off the board, and 4 Hormagants and 1 Ravener go to ground?

Well, cuz I wasn't the Eldar player in this game, or I would have, and, in the end, it wouldn't have made any difference... rallies were *atrocious* for the Eldar this game... poor Pansies...   :alien:

How did the these garrison with raveners (move 20)?

Hey Hena!  Re-read your garrisoning rules!  If "no more than one" unit has a move greater than 15cm, a formation can garrison.

One unit in formation can be faster than 15cm and still garrison.

Turn 2

Guardian 2 calls forth the Avatar and the Swooping Hawk Troupe lands to surround the lonely Lesser Node 1, completely blanketing it with their zones of control.

A swarm of Lictors shows up hiding in the ruins near Tyrant 1's swarm.

Strategy Roll: Alaitoc

Roaring with rage, the Avatar of the Bloody-Handed God calls on the Autarch's Aspect Troupe and Falcon Troupe 1 to engage in a combined assault against Hive Tyrant 1 and the nearby co-mingled Lictors. ?The battle is horrific? for the Tyranids! ?In the end all that is left standing of the bugs is the Hive Tyrant and a single Carnifex, and the Eldar have lost? a single Striking Scorpion! (All those Bugs scored a shocking *three* hits? none MW, and all went on the Avatar, which made all its saves! ?That might have been the most shameful combat the Bugs have ever participated in? *sigh*) ?Flush with victory, the Eldar advance towards the Hierophant with their follow-up moves.

Guardian Warhost 2, then moves forward to engage Tyrant 1, with the support of the Autarch, the Avatar and Falcon Troupe 1. ?In the end, support fire from the Avatar kills the Tyrant and the last Carnifex is shredded as well.

Lastly, Falcon Troupe 2 zooms forward to engage the Hierophant, with the support of *sigh* the Autarch, the Avatar, and Guardian Host 2. ?The massed fire of the Eldar manage to eliminate 4 DC from the bio-titan, but, unfortunately for them, all the attacking Falcons are wiped out and the fearsome beast moves forward.

Howling in pain, the Hierophant sustains fire, blasting the packed together Autarch, Avatar, and Guardian Host 2. ?Two Guardians, 1 Fire Dragon, 1 Striking Scorpion, and the Autarch are slain, breaking the Aspect Troupe. ?As well, the Avatar suffer 1 DC damage and also breaks.

Attempting to save the vulnerable Lesser Node, Warrior Swarm 2 engages the Swooping Hawks. ?The fight is over quickly as 3 Termagants go down while killing the Eldar Exarch and another unit of Swooping Hawks and the Aspect Warriors flee.

The Nightspinners finally spin up successfully to sustain fire on Warrior Swarm 1, shredding 2 Gaunts and a Tyranid Warrior.

Guardian Warhost 1 then engages the wounded Warrior Swarm 1, winning and killing another Warrior and one each of Hormagant, Ravener, and Termagant, but losing their Farseer in the process (Guess he didn't see that coming!).

Warrior Swarm 1, with a single Warrior remaining, elects to marshal, firing on and breaking Guardian Warhost 1 and spawning 1 Ravener and 4 Termagants.

Lesser Node 1 marshals as well, birthing 3 Zoanthropes and a Ravener.

The Nightwings prepare for a ground attack, but something is stuck in one of their engines and they hold to fix the problem.

Tyrant 2 brings its swarm forward to engage the co-mingled Nightspinners and broken Ranger Warhost, who benefit from the support of nearby Guardian Warhost 1. ?The Eldar formations are wiped out while the Tyranids lose 2 Hormagaunts, 1 Carnifex, 1 Ravener, and 1 Termagant.

Again the Genestealers feel no need to hurry and they saunter forward instead of marching? (That's two!)

End of Turn:

The only Eldar unit to rally is the broken Jetbike formation, which clears its blast markers, while the Hierophant regenerates a substantial 3 DC!

Turn 3

The remaining Lictor swarm shows up near the broken Autarch's formation; while the other three Lesser Nodes each show up, in ruins, two near the Wraithgate and one near the Eldar Blitz. ?One of the Nodes coming up near the Wraithgate snags on a nail on its way up and pops? *SIGH*

Strategy Roll: Alaitoc

The Nightwings prepare for a decisive ground attack? and fail to get off the tarmac? again.

The Hierophant roars again, advances over the nearby hill, and blasts Falcon Troupe 1 with bio-plasma, incinerating 3 of the grav-tanks and breaking the formation.

Tyrant Swarm 2 engages Guardian Warhost 1 and wipes them out for the cost of 2 Raveners.

Hiding in the Tyranid back field, the tattered Jetbike formations darts over to engage the slowly advancing Genestealers. ?Though no hits are scored by either side, the Jetbikes win by "1", killing a 'Stealer and pushing them slightly back. ?The Eldar then head back to the Blitz.

Seeking a bit of revenge, or at least a desire to contest the Blitz, the Genestealers? hold and make a single move. ?(That's three? *sigh* ?Dang Genestealers!)

Lictor Swarm 2 engages the broken remains of the slain Autarch's Aspect Troupe and wipes them out, losing a single Lictor and claiming the nearby objective.

Warrior Swarm 2 doubles back towards their own Blitz, firing on the Jetbikes? and dropping 2 of them out of the air, breaking them, and protecting the Blitz!

The surviving Nodes just burble to themselves, holding their nearby objectives?

End of Turn:

Alaitoc 0 (none) vs Tyranids 4 (Blitz, BTS, T-n-H, TSNP)

Well, despite the lop-sided ending, that was a really fun game!

The alpha-strike the Eldar opened with in Turn 2 had me momentarily reeling, but it all went downhill for the Pansies after that.

As to the various Spirit Stone options, unfortunately, none of them would have had any impact on this game at all, so I'm sorry they couldn't be put to the test.
