Nail varnish remover is the winner in my test so far! White spirits was rubbish, took far to much effort to get the paint off. Dettol was also not very good, don't think I had the right stuff.
Nail varnish remover even though I only managed to get a little bit off the other half, cleared 9 gyro copters in a matter of minutes and I could brush off the rest with a toothbrush. Wonderful stuff.
Kudos to Vermis (I think?!) for suggesting that first.
Thanks all. Now down to the local superstore to buy an industrial size bottle.
