Okay,

So I found these Star Destroyer models which, while wildly out-of-scale, are perfectly proportioned for a little cross-over.

Any way, I've bashed together some rules and would like some opinions.  I've got them in a lovely little Word file with pics and a WIP fleet list and I would link it here if I knew how.

After the message (when replying) you'll get three boxes to tick and then a space to attach files (with a big 'browse' button), click on browse and find your file to upload!

Lets have a look at this fleet list then!

Cheers,

RayB

Incidently, where did you get the models from, they're pretty neat! (Any droid ships?)

Cheers,

I picked them up at Wal-Mart.  I'm not at my home computer so I'll get it up tonight.

@ the Good Admiral -- They're real wallet-busters at $5US.  That's the whole reason I bought so many of them.

@ Raysokuk -- A full list of models can be found at http://www.rebelscum.com/SWtitaniumseries.asp although no pictures, you'll have to go elsewhere for that.

And now without further ado, my completely conjectural fluff-deficient fleet list.  It still needs a lot of work. :(

Don't download this file there's an updated one further down.

Well i'm glad you didn't try to make a 'realistic' conversion of rules! Just keep the StarWars theme and make a playable fleet list! Kudos!

No for my critical pointing stick!

(Venteral weapons) It might be simpler to just change venteral weapons for Dorsal! (But it's not too important as you have the disclaimer)

(Fire Arcs) Given the shapes of the ships (basically piramids) they should be able to shoot 'nearly' everything forward aswell as thier broadside arc.

(Turbo Lasers) Why would these be good at long range? (nearly everything from the Starwars universe is considered short ranged in BFG) I'm not saying you can't be abstract, but if you're basing the fleet list around the Empire/Starwars fluff they should be short range (30cm/45cm) but pretty damned deadly!

(Ion Cannons, these would have a longer range (wouldn't they?). Also aren't they broadside weapons on the star destroyers? (I'm not so great with Star Wars ship configs, if I was at home I'd get out my ships of starwars book :) )
*Anyway, the H&R's sound good, but do you have to hit with a 4+ and then do a H&R?
*Also what about modifiers (e.g. Nids confer a -1 mod), perhaps you should just state that you roll a single D6 on the crit table.
*What is the affect against Eldar?
*What is the affect against Necrons?
*'' Ordnance?

(escorts) What escorts?

(Fleet list) How do you field a Death Star or Executor? Surely they need support ships!?

(Attack Craft) You should have the added option of fighter bombers!

(Death Star), shouldn't it have launchbays (and turrets!)

(Turrets) I think most of the ships should add one turret (they're covered in them!)

Have fun!

RayB

Glad you all like it so far.

Now to respond to Raysokuk's points....

(Fire Arcs) Given the shapes of the ships (basically piramids) they should be able to shoot 'nearly' everything forward aswell as thier broadside arc.

I had originally considered this, but was worried that it would just scream "Tau."  (Of course, why should I worry about that when I just said Death Star=ABSF.  More on that later.)  I think you're probably right on this, although I think the FP should be dropped a little or range reduced if it is all going to be able to focus in one arc.

The idea here was to make their WBs a little more reliable by ignoring range modifiers, both good and bad.  I guess I thought that this would reflect their use of targeting computers which would help them be more consistent.  The more I think about it, though, I think you're right that I should shorten the range a little bit.  There were a lot of "60cm"s in there.

As far as I know, the massed salvos of turbolasers did all the damage while ion cannons were more for preventing enemy vessels from fleeing or fighting back, since they don't actually cause physical damage.  Yes, ICs roll to hit like a lance and I did change the wording to 'roll 1D6 on the critical hit table.'  Since in Star Wars Ion Cannons can bypass shields, I'm tempted to make my Ion Cannons ignore them on a roll of 6.  I don't see a problem with the Necron crit table, although I have no idea how to handle the Eldar/ordnance. (As with everything, I'm open to suggestions).

(escorts) What escorts?

That was more of a placeholder.  I'm still trying to come up with some escorts and/or models.

(Fleet list) How do you field a Death Star or Executor? Surely they need support ships!?

Oops!

(Attack Craft) You should have the added option of fighter bombers!

Not a bad idea, I forgot all about them.

(Death Star), shouldn't it have launchbays (and turrets!)

Perhaps, I just thought it would be appropriate to make the Death Star vulnerable to Attack Craft but I could be persuaded otherwise.  What would you suggest?

(Turrets) I think most of the ships should add one turret (they're covered in them!)

I think your right on this one.

I'm going to make a few changes and post an updated list for everybody's perusal.

@ blackhorizon -- My wife is always telling me my smarta$$ comments are gonna get me in trouble someday.

Thanks for the help so far.

JRB

I think Death Star must have as much hit points as a space hulk (it dwarves the super star destroyer) and have several turrets and attack craft still, but to make it vulnerable may have an armor value of 4 under bomber attack due to the exposed canals and corridors.

and maybe the "super star destroyer" must have 14 hp at least, since it's size (17 km) beats even an emperor BB (5.5km)

I haven't been real worried about size/scale for the most part because a normal Star Destroyer would be about half the size of a normal BFG cruiser.
