Hi guys
I thought I'd be better to have a dedicated thread for my Epic workbench rather than keep posting in the "What are you working on" thread in the BattleComms section.
Tonight I finished a squad of Mekboy Tinbotz for my Goff Orks. These babies will be a part of my Goff Stompamob which also includes Stompas (well duh!), Dreaddies and Killa Kanz.

Not sure if maybe I should add some rusty wash to the white chekers as they're a bit too bright white ATM. On the other hand I'm afraid it might murky it as they are rather small.

I agree. Generally speaking I think those early Ork vehicles are among some of the greatest models GW has ever produced.
Moving this from the other "What are you working on" thread here's an updated pic of the Divisio Investigatus titan. I've reshuffled some of the weapon loadout and started to add some more detail to the model. The idea is to have the titan look like some sort of an upsized Tech priest hence the big "servo arm".
I'm not sure if I want to add some purity seals as well. It'd be kind of appropriate I think but on the other hand the model is getting pretty crammed with bitz aleready...
Since noone that I know of has done much in terms of fluff or rules for Divisio Investigatus titans I'm beginning to think of ways of representing it rules wise. I've armed the titan with two Plasma Destructors as I figured a specialist titan like this would have an extra large Plasma reactor to power all that experimental weaponry. By default Divisio Investigatus titans are also armed with the huge Servo Arm which can be used as a Close Combat Weapon. I'm thinking something like a Doom Burner from the Banelord Titan. Finally the titan carries a single Warp Missile (or similar arcane weaponry) + a Fire Control centre. I'm also tinkering with the idea that the titan could have some kind of repair ability to other vehicles/titans though that might be a bit over the top.
The drawback is that the titan doesn't carry as heavy armour as a Battle titan of the Divisio Militaris. Also the catastrophic Damage for a reactor hit could be extremely dangerous. Finally I'm not sure if the titan should have any speed restrictions. It is heavily armed but on the other hand the reduced armour could compensate for this in terms of weight.

love the tinbotz they are really well painted! i think adding the ink reaslly depends on how the other vehicles in the formation are painted. if they have all been through the ork stompa wash, and are nice an shiny then leave them as they are, but if the rest of them are abit dirty then they will look out of place. you can always go back and add the dirty look later, but it wont be easy to remeove if you do it now.
and that titan is cool, if your adding the purity seals, may i suggest on the legs or the outside of the weapons, as putting them up top would over crowd the superstructure. but there doesnt seem to be much going on with the legs, and the old weapons dont have that much detail to them.
cant wait to see that painted!

That titan just gets better! I'm trying to work out were certain bits come from - the carapace is the FW reaver, right? And the arm weapon mounts - where are they from, I keep thinking I recognide them but in the end I can't... |
Nope, Chopping up a FW reaver would be sacriledge! The legs are obviously from a plastic Beelteback Warlord. On top of that is a piece from the turret of a 40k Baal Predator. The shoulders start with a weapon mount from the same Baal predator kit on top of which is the rear ramps from a Mega Gargant. The rest if just lots and lots of bitz from 40k vehicle spures, old 1:35 tank kits and whatever I could find which has a techy look to it.
