I'm curious what the price comparison will be.

I'm thinking about:

Price:  ?28.00

Based upon:

I'd think it'd be closer to ?15-?18 based on it's role in the game, comparable to Sentinels, Landspeeders and Vypers. Admitedly, it's quite a large model, but so are all Tau Vehicles. As it's plastic, and non-forgeworld, it'll be a fair bit cheaper than the FW version.

It is plastic isn't it?

I cannot see it being the same price as the Hammerhead as that's what ?28.00 ($55CAN) works out to.  And it will be a plastic kit.  So that's 1 of 3 ForgeWorld Tau kits that has been confirmed for plastic.  I can see it being in the ?15-?20 range, which is around $40 CAN.  The other 2 rumoured kits are the Tetras and SkyRay.

Skyray's not exactly a rumor... GW has it pictured on their site with the full army.

Tetra is still a rumor at this point though.

Nothing shocks me with GW pricing... nothing. I wouldn't put it past them at all.

Cheers,

I'd forgotten about that picture.  And re: pricing, I totally agree, and if that's what the price ends up as I'll spend it on the Forgeworld resin one.

Note: the resin piranha from FW is now noted as 'LIMITED STOCK'.

The FW Skyray is marked as 'UNFORTUNATELY THIS MODEL IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE '

On the otherhand, they appear to have plenty of Tetras...

Interesting.

Curiouser and curiouser.  Don't the Piranhas and Tetras kind of go hand in hand?

I've seen examples of the Pirannha pricing, though until they show up on the GW site or price sheet we'll not be sure.

However, in what looked like GW type inventory list, they showed up as $25.00 USD. For what it is worth, that doesn't feel too bad.

The Alliance catalog (one that FLGS buy from in the US) has them as $25US retail. ?I'm glad I bought the Tetras instead for my 40k FW order.
