Hello, I was reading the Eldar Swordwind PDF's the other day, and go to thinking about (possibly, in the future) putting together an Eldar army for Epic.  Obviously, this'll be in quite some time as I have a queue of Epic armies starting with my Guard, Fire Storm Space Marines, Titan Legion, Orks, Iron Warriors then 'Nids!  :D

But I was just looking on GW's online store at the Epic Eldar stuff, and was wondering what experienced Epic & Eldar players thought of the list here.  It seems quite a reasonable bundle to me, as a starter force (though to be honest I wouldn't do anything larger than 3,500.

Thanks for looking!

It seems a reasonable bundle, but it is clearly worked around the plastic sprues. You will probably find that there is no-where near enough armour (and no transports) and so you will probably want to add some. This will then increase the cost and the points limit. It might also be worth sitting down and working out how much that lot would cost individually, I suspect that it wont be a lot cheaper to be it seperatly!

PS: I have just added it up, and the cost if you bought that lot individually is exactly the same cost. Personally, I would create your own list, that one would suffer against opponents such as the Guard.

Hi FS40,

The current pricing scheme cuts no deals on larger boxed sets as CS mentioned. Unless you really want their slection, you might as well pick and choose.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I've never done the sums as I've never looked at buying a boxed set but I do find that both suprising and disapointing.

To be honest, I thought I'd sell some of the metal vehicles (Fire Prisms etc.) and just buy FW Wave Serpents & Falcons.

My idea was:

- Howling Banshee formation (in Wave Serpents)
- Dark Reaper formation
- 3 Guardian Formations (two with Wraith Guard & Wraithlords, one in Wave Serpents)
plus Wind Rider formations, Falcon/Firestorm troupes, Revenants, Night Wings, and a couple of Webway Portals.
