FYI, Andy Hall posted the following in the SG thread with reaction to the blog which I posted at the start of this thread. Jervis should have now contacted the Epic Army champions who hadn't had a reply from Jervis. If he hasn't done yet he was working on it yesterday. An Epic Rule review will be happening, hopefully before Xmas. I've been tasked with organising it but am in the middle of the Necromunda RR at the moment. |
This is the first anyone on the ERC has heard about any progress regarding the rules review. That's a bad thing. However, the news that it is scheduled is a good thing. Overall I take it as positive.
I also know that Greg Lane has requested an ERC area on the SG boards so that we can re-start discussion. As far as I recall, the majority of issues were settled, but there are some few things that need to be firmed up before they are ready for release. Hopefully, Andy's message is also the first stirrings in that direction.
For Champions with pending questions, has anyone gotten responses recently?

Hi Neal and Gang,
I haven't heard a thing and my E-mail has been the same one for along time. Unless my E-mail was lost, the SG folks should have it... neither hide nor hair.
I'm not pressing though. I understand about Jervis being busy and all...
That's why I politely asked thay he contact me at his earliest opportunity.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

anyone catch yesterdays Specialist Games range cutback anouncement on the Blog? Looks like a bunch of double talk pucky to me. Epic didnt loose any minis but Inquisitor, necromunda and Mordheim all took hits and a few others lost some of their range as well.

Hi!
Yes I did. Also saw the discussion on the Warseer boards.
This is just more of what I said would happen all along.
Fanatic games are DEAD. Its all a matter of when the community will wake up aand acknowledge it.

For Christ's sake, they screw us over by butchering the Fanatic Studio, axing our printed magazine and then almost completely stopping new miniature production- and now, "Oh yes, what a good idea, lets remove a quater of the real characterful models from each range, that should make the customers happy!"
The only reason the Epic range has been left alone is that it has next to nothing to remove at all as we've suffered the slow slow pace of releases since EA came out. Wonder what this means with regard to the new lists and their minis. Hah.
Poor Inquisitor players though, how gutting would it be to have literally half your range of models dropped?
And Necromunda- the old Orlocks are DECENT MODELS, the new ones are CRAP! Sorry, but its true! Madness- I know I'm writing a quick shopping list now- must get me a Kal before they go....
Tragic.
Cheers, (a very pissed off) ~Gabe

Good (well slightly better) news for Inquisitor:
The guys in Direct Sales have contacted me to let you know that some of the below reported Inquisitor models (in fact the vast majority) are not being retired at all just simply repackaged and/or amalgamated to fit in with the new catalogue structure.
Sorry for the confusion, the list I was given was unclear about this aspect. Muir Murdoch, who manages the ranges, emailed me the details:
"Simeon 38X, Damien Bloodhound, Mutant Emissary Fabian, and Lucrezia Bravus have all been added into the original boxes that they are made from giving the customer the option of doing Damian 1472 or Simeon 38X for example. The Chaos henchmen have just been renamed as Chaos Henchman Conversion Pack. The Kroot mercenary has had the contents changed to contain a complete normal kroot. Not the merc with the funny hands and helmet. The weapons booster and servo skulls will be only available loose."
For now, Andy @ Fanatic |

Losing most of the new models and all of the aliens except the eldar ranger, whos mould is breaking .
At least epic will be kept away from here and E-bay has fulfilled most of my nid needs.

Seems the Inquisitor range didn't take the massive drop we taught them to take.

At the SG forum a Warmaster Moderator (who doesnt like losing models!) made a sort of explanation why the models dissapeared, made kinda sense.
