					| Hey Hena!| Quote (Hena @ 16 Nov. 2005 (15:31)) | | Now I've had time to formulate the bad vibes with 15cm move as it allows garrisoning. Negative points on garrisoning with Nodes. |

In 2500-2700 points, I usually take four Lesser Nodes.  I keep two in reserve and usually garrison the other two.

When garrisoning those other two I usually do it in a combined synapse swarm with either a HT or TW brood and their appropriate minions.  If it's TWs, I'll usually mix in a couple AVs to protect the Node.  Depending on enemy placement, the Nodes will usually Marshall, moving their brood forward with the HT or TWs and then spawning more friends for the next turn.  If there's targets I'd like to place BMs on they'll do the shoot at -1.  If there's enemy really close, I might even engage them.  Next turn, the Node and TW/HT split into two swarms again.

Not garrisoning HG or RVs means I'm just going to either March them up from the backfield or Spawn them forward, which comes to the same end result.  Though garrisoning them does allow the enemy to take some shots at them, they're usually in cover and are always respawnable!

And I'd still garrison them with a Node at 20cm move, with infiltrate, and Gargoyle support, it means I can still probably engage turn 1.

Reducing them to 15cm move doesn't, in my opinion, create any "problems" that don't already exist and puts them in line with other Tyranid regular movement.

As an aside, how do you normally deploy your HGs and RVs?

					| Dangit!  I thought I'd nipped all those 3+RAs!| Quote (Hena @ 16 Nov. 2005 (17:12)) | | Notes from 5.6.1. The Barbed Hierodule has a save of 3+RA. Put it 4+RA and add 1 DC instead. It should not have better armour than titans really.

Also TW. They should not have LV. As then there is no infantry synapse creature.
 |

I'm really starting to reconsider TWs as LV... Just running through some small test games, they become *really* vulnerable.  Infantry for them probably is the way to go.

					| I gotta say, I've *never* had Genestealers do anything in a game... either they get shot apart before they get anywhere (their reputation procedes them!) or they have a very disappointing showing in CC and are FFed to death!  I've usually had my Lictors and 'Stealers killed in the 6cm fire fight or engages by skimmers... it really sucks!  *hive sigh*| Quote (Markconz @ 16 Nov. 2005 (20:28)) | | Genestealers seem overpowered to me at the moment (just because they are in 40k doesn't mean they should be that way in epic ) ?I always try and shoot them dead first, or my opponents try and shoot mine dead. A 40cm charge combined with two first strike attacks is obscene. I would like to see them get 5+ armour (they are tougher in the new 40k codex) and 15cm move. I do like the variable swarm size for Genestealers though |

I'll have to try multiple swarms of them or something.  I don't mind them having 20cm move, at least if gets them around.  *laugh*  I think they should be terrifying though, maybe a little point increase or something.  Gotta play more with them.

What do you think of the Broodlord?

					| I like it (already have one modeled).  I was going for RA rather than inv, but it only makes a difference against TK weapons, and if my opponent is giong to be shooting my stealers with TKs then he has screwed up so much a 6+ save doesn't really matter. _________________

					| I've read though V5.6.1 and have found these typos/quires
Expectorator:  3BP, I thought we were going down to 2BP.

Broodlord: ...Continuing evolution of the genestealer race...  I thought they were just a simple sub spieces of the genus Tyranicii.  Are they different enough to be a race (Okay not a big one but I'm bored here)

Synapse nodes:  Again not happy with the fluff, the bit about being near the planets core
.  I'll see if I can dig up the varaint I wrote back on the ye olde forum.
Clusterspines (Exocrine, hierophant, Hydraphant and Haruspex) 15mm range!!  Okay we are bad at shoting but not that bad.

 Barbed Hierodule: 3+RA.  Already mentioned

					| Expectorator - should be 2BP, probably a cut-n-paste error while updating.| Quote (ragnarok @ 18 Nov. 2005 (13:04)) | | I've read though V5.6.1 and have found these typos/quires

Broodlord - the "flavour text" is right out of the new Tyranid Codex!  Odd, I know...

Synapse Nodes - I didn't re-write any of the old flavour text.

Cluster Spines - dang it!  I did a find-replace for 15mm to 15cm... hmmm... maybe I did it "15 mm"...  will be looked after!

Barded Hierodule - changed to 4+RA in next version.

Thanks for using your enhanced senses!

					| I'm just afraid of what people will say when the template is placed at the rear of the model...| Quote (Hena @ 18 Nov. 2005 (13:25)) | | The breath Attack. I don't think it should be touching the head of the creature or front of the base. Since the critters can turn nicely and move their heads, I would say that the template have touch the base of the creature. Or perhaps allow turning in place for all critters that fire this (when firing thus given better AA)? |

You hit 6 Ork FBs with one Template?!  That's madness!  *laugh*

Yeah, flamer template placement needs to be looked at.  I've been keeping an eye on the AMTL work on the template as well.

					| Yeah he did precicely that. I was trying to get rid of those darn uber artirelly's and dominaxtrix(?) was sitting front of them.| Quote (Chroma @ 18 Nov. 2005 (13:34)) | | You hit 6 Ork FBs with one Template?!  That's madness!  *laugh* |

 a) I forgot that thing had flame template AA(hey first time I encountered flame template thing in epic!)
 b) Due to short range(and large size of fighter sqwadron) I was forced to bunch them up anyway.

Silly mistake. Good thing his dice rolling failed, as he usually failed in that game

Of course that was not usefull anyway thanks to survivability of those artirelly bugs.
