F/M - that BB pitch is shaping up nicely. I agree the paintjob will be the most defining bit. Given that you want it to be a muddy pitch and not a green astroturf type look, I think the use of small patches of water effect resin would really help you get the effect you want.
The other thing you will need is a scoreboard, which would fit nicely between the dugouts. Ive seen lots of different ways of doing it and it adds a lot of colour to the model
Looking forward to more pics!

Got another table into my room. Very convenient for all my modelling and painting, that, since now all of my ongoing modelling/painting projects can be stored in a single area.
Got to do some work on that long-abandoned Banshee. Fortress Grey proved to work well as a shading color for Skull White, but I made a mistake in using pure FG in some areas of armor - will have to fix with FG/SW 1/1 mix. Another lesson is that Fortress Grey should also be used in high white content mixes, so next time I'll be painting white armor I'll try 1/3, 1/7 and then pure Skull white (instead of 1/1, 1/3, pure SW). Even despite this little slip, the armor still looks very good, and I look forward to completing the paintjob.
I have finished painting the face for my new Celestian Battle Sister (yes, another one), but I'm not sure if I like how Dwarf Flesh to Elf Flesh skin tone turned out.

Using a mix of those blisters, E40k era guard models and old SM era Cadians I've built command stands for all my Guard infantry: Tallarn (steel legion-ish), Death Korps, Cadians, Catachans and even an Ogryn auxillary company I'm working on. |
I need to make a few Regt Command stands myself. ?I'll look forward to your usual inspiring pics to make me get off my butt!
I too have planned an Ogryn Shock-Assault company.... 12 Stands plus a compulsory Commissar stand to keep them under wraps. The only thing stopping me from getting it completed was that with only one mini type, they started to look far too uniform from what I imagined an shambling near out-of-control Ogryn Auxillia would appear as. Ive looked for some 6mm fantasy type Ogres to pad them out but no luck so far

And I have made a number of Regimental/BN/Co. Cmd stands using various troops from the E:A C-packs and previous IG sprues ... it's neat that we can do that !
