Got a throat infection - again. This left me in a state not university-suitable, but the good side... more time at home, painting and converting my minis!
At Relic forums a new, this time long-term, contest began, with the goal being to make a 40k in 40 minutes force. Points awarded for fluff, character, conversions and painting. I decided to enter with Raven Knights. Four possible lists so far:
(Chapter Traits: Be Swift as the Wind, Minor Disadvantages: Die Standing)
Battle Hymns
4 Brothers of metal (Bike Squad) @ 203 Pts Twin Bolter; Bolt Pistol (x3); Meltagun (x1); Frag Grenades 1 Ulrich (Veteran Sergeant) Twin Bolter; Frag Grenades; Close Combat Weapon (x1); Close Combat Weapon; Power Weapon (x1); Combat Shield; Krak Grenades
3 Templars of steel (Bike Squad) @ 196 Pts Twin Bolter; Bolt Pistol (x3); Frag Grenades; Furious Charge Skill 1 Hector (Veteran Sergeant) Twin Bolter; Frag Grenades; Close Combat Weapon (x1); Close Combat Weapon; Thunder Hammer (x1); Combat Shield; Furious Charge Skill; Bionics
Models in Army: 9 Total Army Cost: 399
Army of Immortals
2 Brothers of metal (Bike Squad) @ 132 Pts Twin Bolter; Bolt Pistol (x2); Frag Grenades 1 Kristoff (Veteran Sergeant) Twin Bolter; Frag Grenades; Close Combat Weapon (x1); Close Combat Weapon; Power Fist (x1); Combat Shield
3 Templars of Steel (Bike Squad) @ 105 Pts Twin Bolter; Bolt Pistol (x2); Frag Grenades; Furious Charge Skill
5 Metal Warriors (Bike Squad) @ 160 Pts Twin Bolter; Bolt Pistol (x4); Frag Grenades
Models in Army: 11 Total Army Cost: 397
Into Glory Ride
5 Metal Warriors (Bike Squad) @ 185 Pts Twin Bolter; Bolt Pistol (x2); Meltagun (x2); Frag Grenades; Krak Grenades
4 Brothers of Metal (Bike Squad) @ 211 Pts Twin Bolter; Bolt Pistol (x2); Meltagun (x2); Frag Grenades 1 Ulrich (Veteran Sergeant) Twin Bolter; Frag Grenades; Close Combat Weapon (x1); Close Combat Weapon; Power Weapon (x1); Combat Shield
Models in Army: 10 Total Army Cost: 396
Heeding the Call
4 Brothers of metal (Bike Squad) @ 240 Pts Twin Bolter; Bolt Pistol (x2); Meltagun (x2); Frag Grenades 1 Hector (Veteran Sergeant) Twin Bolter; Frag Grenades; Storm Shield (x1); Thunder Hammer (x1); Combat Shield
1 Chaplain Morrant (Reclusiarch) @ 160 Pts Crozius Arcanum; Power Fist (x1); Rosarius; Bike; Terminator Honours; Bionics Models in Army: 6 Total Army Cost: 400
What do you think?
There will also be a centerpiece cathegory, for which I intend a scenery piece - a cross between a live concert stage and a gothic chapel... Other Chapters fight... Raven Knights kill!

When I was feeling somewhat better, I spent some time on the Raven Knight - visor faceplate and some work on the greaves, mostly - and on the chestpiece for new Chaplain Raziel miniature. Both are shaping up well.
I also watched the trailer for new Hellsing OAV. It sent my jaw to the floor, lightspeed. And I could not stop at watching it only once, either...

Quote (Legion 4 @ 22 Oct. 2005 (05:00)) | If it is bad... Doug, Maksim and Tas, get all my Epic and terrain! ? | Hi L-4,
You're kooky, but you're my kind of kooky.
Get well, man. I'd rather have you around than some stuff anyday of the week.
Shabbat Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Good luck and hope it's nothing serious. Whatever you do, don't listen to Weird Al's "Like a Surgeon" before you go...

Hi,
I hope all is cool L4, keep us updated.
Today I started my winter project, a Blood Bowl stadium. I've been out to the hardware stores and timber yards today (like a kid in a candy store ) and got supplies. I'll post up a diary when I actually start working on it, but it should keep me busy until chrimbo.
I've also been cleaning up my Crimson Fists for the past few days, retouching a few scrapes and such.
Cheers, Freshmetal
