Thanks for the responces folks!
Well i narrowed it down to these 3 because..
...i liked the word bearers symbol and they were different.
...i think the iron warrior fluff is cool (except they dont do deamons i think).
...black legion cos they should be eaiest to paint and are also pretty cool looking.
What i found was that the iron warriors were easiest, followed closely by black legion, and word bearers were a pain (and i am still not happy with them). I struggle with painting red especially dark red.
Tas how do you paint your word bearers?
My method for these was
1, black spray undercoat
2, quick coat of beastial brown (so that the red has something to adhere to, reddoesnt cover black very wel in my experience)
3, red gore as the main
4, then i tried to do a quick highlight (first tried yellow, looked daft, then tried blood red which didnt work, then blazing orange which is what i eneded up with but i dont think it worked at all)
5, paint guns black
7, paint trim boltgun metal
8, any further details
When i finished painting them i thought of doing a formation of each ...but... does that would look ok L4? as the army wouldnt look cohensive unless you have done it cleverly ?
Would be cool to have a formation painted as each traitor legion, unfortunately dont have enough models for that ?
The chaos squats look like they are CSM climbing out of the ground in an undead skeleton fashion ?
But the variety of the units looks cool in my opinion. And does any body have any spare old CSM. I have enough of the new style to make another formation but none of the old style, and i would like to keep the mixed unit feel. So any body want a straight swap 20 - 30 old style for new style?
Anyway it appears Black Legion is in the lead at the moment.... still wait and see what i feel like. I have a battleforce and a titan (no where near as good as that awsome chaos behemoth)to finish for the comp.
Any body got any pics of their armies to get a feel for what a whole army of them looks like?
