Hi!

I'd say that will place the release of Necron around 2082..... :;):

Known Fanatic Releases for Jan/Feb (ie, what JJ'd tell me):

Epic - Feral Orks range (inc. metal Boyz, Nobz & Boarboyz)
=][= - Thorian =][=, Thorian Faction download, Callidus Assassin
Mordheim - Frenzied Mob

Chaos, when redone, will not have its sprue re-jigged, but should be the next Epic release post-Feral Orks.

According to JJ, Fanatic will be slowly releasing models it already has till the end of 2007, with new ones being worked on for release in 2k8. What this means for any of the games, I can't say, but it was mentioned that BFG is unlikely to see anything new for 12 months.

He mentioned to me that Tyranids and Chaos would be next and that they are being released ASAP. The dreadies will be in the release, as will the bikers.

So panic not, within 18 months the initial range will be complete.

Chaos, when redone, will not have its sprue re-jigged, but should be the next Epic release post-Feral Orks.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. We had an in depth chat with Jervis, wait on Incoming! for the full round up, I am not entirely sure what we're allowed to say and what we're not, so gonna stay quiet till Incoming! is okayed and released :).

I can't say I'm surprised, but it's still disappointing.

For those interested in the full quote:

In this blog I?d also like to address new Specialist Game model releases. I noticed there was a valid question on the forum about the apparent freeze in the model releases. The main reason for the delay is that there has been much internal discussion about the best way of releasing the new models; some felt we should dribble them out a few at a time so that we had releases every month or two, others that we should have a couple of big Specialist releases a year. In the end we went for the second option, as this will better allow us to focus attention on the release in White Dwarf and elsewhere. The effect has been that all of the releases that were going to be dribbled out over the months up to Christmas for the different specialist game systems, will now all be released together as one big hit just after Christmas.

So, the most requested models, the Epic Feral Orks, have been held up, but they will be out in January or February next year along with a few other cool models for the other games systems in the winter ?release window?. We also have a summer ?release window? planned as well, which means twice a year you?ll get a flood of Specialist Games releases. For more detail about upcoming releases come and talk to me at Gamesday (please!).

I think this is probably a bunch of garbage.

What happened to the "one specialist game feature" plan to rotate SG through the retail outlets?  Instead of getting the games in the stores on a rotating basis, they are going to flood the market all at once?  I'd say that's solid evidence that the GW powers-that-be have no intention of ever giving SG retail space at all.  They're probably squeezing them out of the production schedule, too.

That's the only way I can think that this decision would make sense at SG.

From what my nephew, who works at a GW store, has said, individual store managers are allowed a little leeway to stock SG minis at their discretion. At least this is the case for US stores.

As I've said before, I'll be happy just to have feral orks released, regrdless of the release date. However, I am a little encouraged by JJ's statement that Nids and Chaos will be released ASAP. I honestly don't care if they rerelease the old sprues without reworking them, just as long as they release them!  :p

Hi!

I have said it all along, first release, SOMETHING, ANYTHING, to keep the line "full", then worry about "adding" stuff.

Agreed, P.

If there not going to change the Chaos or Nid sprues, why not release them now? They would sell TONS of them! And that's not even counting what Primarch will buy!   :;):  :p

Hi!

What I fear is that any reaction may come "too late". What is the point of doing something positive for epic if the "buzz" created by the new game withers away with all the negative things that have happened?

Will there still be a viable customer base to care?

They have a very narrow window at the moment to "get with it".
