Thanks WN,
I have some myelf and looking at them the difference is that they are heavier, if you find the pic you mention let me know. As for the Metal battlewagon I havent found those, where is the pic for that again? |
Grumble grumble. I know what the pic is supposed to look like but I can't remember where. It is the same piece of "wall" terrain as the back cover of Codex Titanicus but taken at a steeper angle showing the back of some ork gargants. I've looked throgh my rule books and old WD but I just can't find it I know the orks are there but I can't remember if they are pitched against some Eldar which may or may not include the Falcons. IIRC there's some Wraithlords in the pic as well....it could be from an old Eavy Metal or something...
Anyway I'm not completely sure about the battlewagons but to me it looks as though it's got a slightly simpler, flatter turret and the engine bit is a bit simpler too. ...but of course it could just be the painters who trimmed the models a bit...
Cheers!

Quote (MaksimSmelchak @ 17 2005 Aug.,14:06) | Hi Guys,
The SM Dropship was originally sculpted during the AT-1 era. but was never released at that time.
It was later released from US mail order as a BFG ship along with many of the Eldar X-vehicles.
Later, US mail order sold it as an Epic piece through the Epic archive.
Unfortunately, with the removal of the US archive, it has been stricken from the records and is no longer availible.
I have one and have been finagling with a local to get a second. He almost through it away with some miniatures until I gave him some money and took the pieces off his hands. He asked for the dropship back so I gave it to him. As far as I know, it's functioning as a fancy paperweight in his office at the moment. He's given up on gaming and recently asked me if I wanted it back.
I told him yes, but asked him to take some sort of compensation from me in return. He could use the money and we've always been friendly. People can be odd... myself included.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. | Hi!
Another little known item were metal versions on the plastic warlord titan weapons. Also available from the US archive. I stumbled across them when Mojarn told me about the eldar X vehicles and exodites.
I use them for the chaos titans for that "distinct" look.

Man, the more I learn about what was available from archives, the more I miss it.

Thanks Darkone!
And, as a pleasant surprise to me, the dropship model actually looks kind of cool.
Which I suppose is also an unpleasant surprise as now I want one... or two.. or...
Thanks for the pics sir!

Could you be more specific with the weapons ? I have metal ones as well but I am not sure which weapons you mean, were they metal copies of the plastic ones? I ask because you could buy blisters of metal weapons and head and wondered if you meant them?
Thanks Darkone!
