And Vanvlak, that is Pz I. Not II. ?:;):

Obviously - and that's what I said in my post too, check it out :p  :p

Nice pics Tas. The Tiger's a great big beastie. Me, I prefer the Jagdpanther - and better still (not performance wise, but I can't resist it) - the Stug III. I've got a thing for turretless tanks.  :cool:

Nice pics Tas ! ?And I may be wrong, Mojarn, but I think that Pz.III is the early version with the 37mm, before it was replaced with the short 50mm than long 50mm and even the later version had a short 75, like the earlier versions on the Pz.IV ... I'll look again ! :D    Yep !  Looks like a 37mm to me ! :;):

Great Pics all.
I too love the Stug (death ray version is extra good :laugh: ) but, perhaps strangely, my favourite WW2 vehicle is the SDKFZ 251 and assoc variants, such a great shape :D and who doesn't like the 88?

Thanks for the pics, Primarch and Tas. Aberdeen is definitely on my list of "Places to see before I die."

I'm with L4: I believe that is a Pzkw III with a 37.

Hi!

Thanks the pics Tas. :)

That museum is much better presented than the tanks in aberdeen.

They have a tiger at aberdeen, but those are along the road entering the base and I didnt stop for pics there.

Yep, I know that.  :)  But the mantlet looks a bit strange for a early war Pz III as well as the ball-mount for the hull MG. Plus did the early war vehicles have smoke dischargers?

I've GOT to finally get myself some good reference books. Like "Encyclopedia of German tanks" and "Encyclopedia of allied tanks".  :;):

EDIT: Ah-HA! I knew it!  The hull MG mount was rectangular up until Ausf H. And the 37mm L48 gun was replaced from ausf G on (including the last 100 of ausf F produced) with 50mm L42.

It is probably a Pz IIIJ with the 50mmL42.

Or it might be a "collected works" as it has the later drive wheel but older idler wheel.  :)

that's the problem up here, too. Unfortunately our tank museum does not qualify for any state helpfor some reason  :angry: so most of the tanks are rusting outside.   :{

You may be correct Mojarn, as it may be a "collected" piece. As few Pz IIIs survived the war ... :)
