Yes, they did, Bikes and Jet Bikes, some had bolters, they could carry the Las-cannons on their shoulders, and they had all kinds of other fun options. All gone.

Hmmm... "opinions/suggestions"...

how about a titan that can transport a bunch of the infantry?
I guess you could take a bunch of corvus assault pods, but who wants to do that? Those weapon spots are prime realestate.

Electro Priest - sounds great... don't know if him and his pretorian combat servitors are enough for me, but I'm going to play around with them and see how they do. Seems like Mr. Electro could do a bit more for 50 points... inspiring is cool and so is fearless, but inv save doesn't do much for me here.

frankly, the combat servitors really don't reflect crushing claws and power fists (the way I'd outfit my servitors) or at least power weapons... seems like th servitors could use some revision.

BTW: is the baron over priced... 250 for three lancers and 200 for one baron? Seems pricy.

ok, for not playing a game yet - just stuff I was thinking about.

I agree, I do not think of, nor want to use a Titan as an APC. It works too well as my "Landship".

Guess I was thinking of the legs of the Imperialis. It's like two gothic buildings with steps infantry could walk up into.

I could see what you are thinking of. I have always thought of them as large ?temples? to the Machine God or tombs for the Heroes of the Imperium.  I mean the rest of the bones from all those skulls they have flying around have to be somewhere.  :p

I have a Titan MK.1 with Corvus Head and Assault Pods on each arm, with a CLP on the back of the Carapace. Armed with a D-Laser and Plasma Cannon ... real heavy metal !  :;): My version of a Siege Tower/Titan ... :D

Why do you think my "want list" has a Corvus head and arms on it? :p

T/Skull had a pic of one last year sometime too as I recall, but its not on his website anymore...

The "Cool Factor" of a Corvus Assault Head and 2x Corvus Assault Pods is up there.  Mine has the CAH, 2x CAP, an Inferno Gun, and a Fire Control Tower.  I think I also slapped a couple of Carapace Multi-Lasers on it.  In addition, I put one of the huge banner poles with the spearpoint at the top in the center of the carapace and put a 'Uge Flag on it also.

Nothing says "I hate you" like a walking troop transport with guns, electronics, and a big flag!

Oh I don't know, seems a Virus Bombardment from Orbit would come close.  :p

To be honest, not having any of the arms meant me not thinking about it, so in that case, I guess they could be large APCs.

APCs with major attitude.  :cool:

I might be splitting hairs, but I prefer to think of it as a seige tower as L4 does. I have no problems with a titan acting as a siege tower, disgorging infantry into buildings. Acting as an APC, albeit a heavily armed and armored one, doesn't really fit. I have always thought of titans as land battleships.

I like L-4s siege tower idea. Although in current military situation this line of thought (the siege tower, not the APC!) could be outdated, the 40K universe with its anachronisms is littered with vast fortresses and hives, and the image of a massive Titan approaching a fortress wall carrying squads of troops in assault pods and heads could make sense. A sort of forlorn hope. I see the Titan as having a pair of pods and a pair of tactical weapons, to suppress defending troops as it approaches.
