Hi,
I thought I'd reiterate a few of my opinions/suggestions from the old forum.
1. I don't think the Praetorian statline represents the massive warrior-servitors described in the background OR the small battle-servitors found in 40K. A bunch of ideas...

2. It would be nice to have more Centurio Ordinatus engines. Although the main Ordinati are supposed to be very rare, there is some background suggesting the Centurio Ordinatus are a proper branch that regularly supports the titan legions or tech-guard. Here's some off-the-cuff ideas for less rare war engine ordinance...

3. I don't find the current praetorian or skitarii platoons units a viable alternative to other units such as Scout titans. While they might be great in (say) an Imperial Guard army, more Titans are almost always more effective. I would suggest increasing the size of their formations, but reducing their cost would work too.
4. Make the Tech-priest an upgrade for the Titans (possibly helping to recover fields or even restore DC), and Electro-priests could lead the skitarii. That or simply have Tech-priests and Titan tech-priests.
5. I still like the idea that Tech-priests (and only tech-priests) could have an improved transport to signify their rank and connection to machines (Land Raider was what I was thinking of, but I know of - if not accept - the fluff arguments against this)
6. I don't like the Sentinels or Hydras in the list - they seem 'tacked on' to the list. (For suggested replacements, see Praetorians and Centurio engines above).

I think it does represent a general category of machine assault troops. Indiviudally customisable but overall effect is thus for a variety of reasons (lack of iniative, programs, fog of war etc). It is a general cyborg assualt stat I guess. It could be 1 thing or 8 factory cyborgs that have been reprogrammed. I think the praetorian isn't a standardised creation and thus its full scope is better explored in 40k/inquisitor/a forge world pdf list.

Yes. However there will be other lists. Is three enough for this list? other ideas can go int he tech guard army, or even better can you come up with a build it yourself ordinati system?
3. I don't find the current praetorian or skitarii platoons units a viable alternative to other units such as Scout titans.*Snip*
They have niches. They aren't full on replacements. Indeed the idea is you would want to take titans. however for stuff like urban fighting or objective control, as well as utilising terrain they have advantages that put them on equal footing witht he Titans. I guess its a bit like the steel legion - infantry are worse than tanks, but can do things tanks can't.
4. Make the Tech-priest an upgrade for the Titans *snip*.
You don't like the 'hardware' solutions?
5. I still like the idea that Tech-priests (and only tech-priests) *snip* improved transport *snip* (Land Raider was what I was thinking of *snip*)
Its a novel idea. Thing is can we get it past fluff?
6. I don't like the Sentinels or Hydras in the list *snip*. (For suggested replacements, see Praetorians and Centurio engines above).
Like many also do

However these are army level formations - that suggests a mass produced answer to those requirements. Your suggestions seem more 'custom' built than mass produced machines.

1, See TRC's answer
2, The three we've got at the minute seem to cause a fair amount of controversy - let's not add to it further.
3, The Praetorian unit was designed to be carried within the Corvus Assault Pod initially, though it does now have the capacity to be used as a solo mechanised formation. It's certainly the best formation you can get in the CAP in the AMTL list, look at it that way
4, Considering this, and there is now the option with the Tech-Priest-that-was now being called the Electo-Priest. The question that has to be asked, however, is is it needed, or is it merely wanted (see the artillery debate, which (after this comment) can stay out of this thread, thankyouverymuch).
5, I've already said no to that one. LR are for SM only (and the occasional =][= who half-inches one)
6, See comments on old forum.
