Neat ! ?The AT1 Warlord Nightgaunt and Eclipse variants are lightly armed with many having no or only 1 carapace weapon. I have a number of them. ?Cheap, faster and lightly armed ... like a CL or CA ...

RISE OF THE OLD ONES
Hi all,
dusting off and retouching the old models has started off something - namely two armies for Epic. AMTL (at long last; lots of conversions accessorizing the Squatachans!) and the Tyranids.

The latter are favourites, and basing on Maksim's v3 list, I can just manage a 2140point army. Certainly not a Primarch-sized job, but fun for small battles. I've calculated I have around 3800 points, but this is limited by the 1/4 of points having to be Gaunts, Gargoyles or Raveners. Oh well, tis'll give me some choice in the Synapse, Independents and the rest. And initiative to buy more basic troops! :p And I'm not complaining, I agree the Tyranid army should have a horde-of-beasties feel. Quite unlike the 6-Carnifex 0-gaunt-toting 40K armies now possible.... ???

On the conversion scene - well, I have a curious situation here, more Titans than Titan weapons... oh dear, I'll have to convert some stuff... The troops and 'lesser beasts', I'm guessing, will come from the Squatachan pool with a few friends.
As for the Tyranids - fewer conversions here - so far only the Synapse node is planned. But I'm tempted by the spores and (drool) the Vituperator. For a change, all I have this time round are the wings, one of my usual weak bits-box points.

Besides these - competition projects, project 'I' (no prizes here) amd 2 very different Kaiju. :;):

Thanks V. He looks great. Nice idea.

I like the idea of him being the Light Cruiser. Fits my view of Titans overall as "Landships".

As for the Tyranids - fewer conversions here

I saw a very cool 40K nid scratch item in the lcoal store a few months ago.

Nid landing pods made from a half melted large polystyrene foam ball, with string glued radiating outward and onto various bits of surrounding terrain in the area.  Painted up a shell type colour on the ourside, and a womb/guts colour on the inside, it looked awesome (no I didnt have a camera).

A smaller epic version would be cool with a few together for your spore point.

Saw one someone on the net made for the Epic scale using the old 25mm Leading Edge Aliens Egg Sacks. They looked very good.

The other Epic Scale ones I saw were made from Pistachio Shells. They looked great when he was done.

EPIC TYRANIDS

Hi all, busy painting day today - I finished off retouching 9 Tyranid models, plus painting (from scratch) the Kaiju and Tyranid Synaptic nodes shown elsewhere, in the Kaiju and Nid conversions threads.

Here are three Exocrines - I'd entered these in the last  Epicomp - now they are washed, drybrushed, and based.

EPIC TYRANIDS

Here they are again, in single file - two of these (the pale green ones) had been refurbished earlier on during the To6G. Thye've rejoined their friends to compare notes now. The 'newer' three have darker colours, and need camo lessons.

EPIC TYRANIDS -PIC OF THE WEEK

And here's my choice for my pic of the week - oribinally my least favourite metal Tyranids in Epic, these small guys have grown on me, and I wish I had more.
Biovores.  :)

Some good looking targets, um.., I mean bugs you got there. :p

All jokes aside, they look nice.

By the way, I am still looking for the bits you need so I can send them to you. One thing I do not know, is the main body FW or GW?
