Hi!
Agreed. I think technology has reached the point where remote controlled drones are possible and we'll be seeing more of them.

UCAVs may be armed with "smart" munitions now ... and we just don't know about it ... And neither do the targets ...

Primarch | There are some things, like military secrets, that the public shouldn't know about. Leaking military secrets tends to cause additional loss of life.

Surprise - is one of the Principles of War ... even if the media does not think so ... It's hard enough to survive in combat without the media's help !

Let me explain. If we are talking about R&D of weapons, fine. But right now the US government is using "National Security" to keep secrets that need to come out.
"Military Secrets" have been the label used to hide Drug Operations, Illegal Arms Deals, Torture and other Human Rights Violations, and Out Right Lies to start wars over Oil.
As an American who both supports the military (They keep me free) and who believes himself to be a patriot, I do not want to jeopardize the Militaries ability to conduct war as needed to win. I just do not believe that the Government should be allowed to slap a label like "Military Secrets" onto just anything.

Dafrca,
I do agree with what you are saying. You raised legitimate points. Our government does misuse the "military secret" and "national security" labels all too often. If you notice, I did same "some things" should be kept secret. I am definitely NOT in favor of everything being kept secret.
