OK, I went crazy and put a bid down on some MicroArmor scale WWI Australian Light Horse.
Why asks ye?
More effective and wonderful IG troops, says I.
Not RR, but Mounted Infantry. On the table I will use them as Infantry. I think it would be a fun Proxy to toss onto the table.

Sir,
Whilst I applaud your use of such fine and disciplined troops, I implore you not to use the words "Australian" and "odd" in such close proximity. Wars have begaun through such misunderstandings Sir...
Its rare that people understand that the LH were actually mounted infantry and not caalry. Having said that, the famous Light Horse charge at Battle of Beersheba (at the close of WW1) was the last successful cavalry charge. The boys werent armed with sabres or swords and used their bayonets slashing style.

The History Channel had a program or 2 n the Battle of Beersheba, with the Light Horse ... very cool. I'll have to check out that site ! Thanks Tas ! They'd make interesting RR, as we still use the SM1 rules for RR dismounting. So inturn, acting like Light Horse ie., mounted Infantry !

Yes, I did know that was what they were and that is why I thought it would be fun to use them that way.
It was a movie about them and this battle that brought the Light Hourse to my attention the first time. I loved the movie and the battle was quite fun to see.

Hi!
The RAFM line of heavy gear is extinct. Other that e-bay there is no one making that scale.
Its a shame too, since The large scale mechs made excellent titans!
Primarch | My bad grammer has caused a misunderstanding.
When I said "Does" I ment collect or playes with. I am looking for any collectors who wish to trade some. Maybe they have a few extras they would trade for others they need or want.
I have quite a few of the older scale and then stopped playing when the whole "let's change scale mid-stride" took place.
I now have bought their new edition, but do not plan of supporting their new line of mini-gear.

Yes, "The Lighthorseman" it a good flick indeed.
You may also be interested in knowing that many Lighthorsemen served at Gallipolli, but left their horses in Egypt (where they trained) and fought only as infantrymen. ?Indeed it was LHmen that made the charge at 'The Nek' to cover the British landing at Suvla Bay to the North, as depicted in the Melb Gibson "Gallipolli".
Australia may not have a long military history, but it is distinguished and we are immensely proud of it.

Sir - you are obviously an educated and knowledgable man of ?good taste ? | Thank you Sir.
As an aside, I will get the chance to try it out. I won the auction. Once they arrive, I will be a proud owner of both Mounted and unmounted Light Horse.
